How many of you have like ton of toys now that Christmas is over? How many of you have swore that this year was the year that you would tackle the toy clutter in your home? I didn’t realize how many toys the kids get until I looked and saw that we needed to take everything home wit us (as we weren’t home for the holidays.) Not to mention looking around Reese’s room (that’s it above and yes some of those are unopened) did I finally see the light. This is the year that the toy clutter ends once and for all at my house. I am tired of there being more toys lying around than the kids know what to do with and I have a couple of ways to help cut the clutter!
A Full Scale Clean Out
When we finally get home we are having a full scale clean out. Any toy that has not been played with in the last year will be finding a new home. This is ridiculous and something that needs to be addressed right away. I have been a bit lax in this area because I don’t want to upset the kids or they feel attached to a particular toy. However for the older ones it is past time. For the younger ones it’s time they start to learn to play with what they have.
Pley to the Resuce
Pley is the second part of my plan and probably the most brilliant although I can’t take any credit. Pley is a super fabulous company that allows you to rent toys! You read that correctly you can rent toys. So you know what that will do to the clutter at my home? It will make it almost nonexistent. I could kiss the creators of Pley! 😉 The kids will get a box and when they are done I simply send it back and get a new one.
One of the best things is that Pley always offers age appropriate toys. No more guessing if your child will be able to do something or if they will like it. Pley is on top of things for you. Add that in with the large selection of educative toys, including 400+ LEGO sets and popular robotics toys (not to mention the new one they are getting in) and your child will have plenty to be excited about.
Another great things is that Pley is easy on your wallet and the average members save $800 a year. More if you count in all the storage stuff you end up buying for the pile of toys that no one plays with anymore. Not to mention the doctor’s visits for the pieces that somehow always end up embedded in your foot and the little cars that cause you to slip and break your neck.
