I don’t know about all of you but I love food and everything to do with food including all the gadgets in the kitchen. Welcome to my first Tasty Tuesday of 2017 where you will find anything from a recipe to tips on washing dishes! Just kidding cause, I hate to wash dishes and will get out of it if I possibly can and do most nights! In fact in my house we have a rule that whomever cooks doesn’t have to clean. Want to guess how often I cook?
Meatloaf is a big deal in my home, everyone loves it. I’m an either or or kind of girl when it comes to meatloaf but I do make it a few times a year. Especially when I want to do an really great meal without a whole lotta work on my part. I also make when I visit my brother because his wife doesn’t really like it so he usually only gets it if someone else makes it. Honestly my recipe really isn’t all that special but it works for us and I hope that you all will like it as well.
So I use a store bought package of meatloaf seasoning. Now it says to use a pound of hamburger meat per pack. I use about 2 pounds of ground chuck. I like ground chuck better, there is less grease with it. I also like Italian bread crumbs versus regular ones or even the homemade ones. I am all about easy.
Put all of the ingredients into a bowl and I use my hands to mix it all up really well.
Put it into the crock pot. Yes I said put it all into the crock pot! Also you will notice that I make mine in the crock pot! I do that because it means that I can cook an entire meal almost (I have one of those three pot ones) while I am busy doing the million other things during the day.
When the meatloaf is almost done, a little pink on the inside, add your topping. A little note about the topping that I do: It’s just plain old ketchup because the kids freak out when I decide to add anything extra to it. Sometimes they can be picky like that and the truth is I have learned to pick my battles.
