I was just thinking as I was reading your newsletter that we are in the last half of February already and it seems like it just started.
I do find it overwhelming at times, as much as I look forward to it, how to spend the week end. I want to make things easier for the coming week but also want to have together time with my family. Finding that balance makes for an enjoyable week end.

I really need to find time to enjoy any of my time, I need to take care of me. But, my husband had surgery yesterday and is not working until further notice, and we have a preemie and a toddler so every thing is just utter chaos right now. To top everything off our water got shut off for emergency repairs so we have absolutely no water or heat currently.

It is wild that we are already in 2017. It seems like I was just getting things together for our Thanksgiving meal & my brother was cooking the turkey. I just don’t know where the time goes. As it is I spend the weekends getting the trash together, doing as much of the laundry as possible, and entertaining family on Sunday afternoons. It seems the weekends are relegated to getting chores done, paying bills, going to the grocery for the week. We’ve gotten to the point we make movie night dates & spend a few hours playing board games with family when they come over.

Long ago, I stopped making major plans for the weekend, and I’ve found that we enjoy our weekends much more without all that pressure. We find that weekends are a good time to relax together without a lot of scheduled activities. We both like certain televised sports, and that often makes a focus for the weekend. But my goodness, how those two days fly by!

I try and stay offline as much as possible. Usually we do something together especially something outside. It always seems there is some chore to do, but just being outside makes it more fun. It is for sure important too to say ‘no’ if you want to.

I love making calls to my friends on the weekends to check in. I am not in the weekday rush and neither are my friends.

I love the weekend..it’s a way to reconnect with the family after a crazy hectic week of running here and there.
