I am so with you on the knitting! I used to crochet a bit and it wasn’t a big deal. A few years ago a friend taught my Mom and I to knit. In a week, I had about two inches of a scarf and then screwed it up. My Mom, on the other hand, finished 6 scarves that same week. I just tell people that I’m knitting-impaired.

I cannot knit, although I can crochet a little. I find working in the round (like making hats) is much easier for me than making squares or scarves. I do wish that I could use a sewing machine, but that skill eludes me.

I haven’t done much knitting, I have crocheted a couple of throws. I have done sewing for many years, and it does take patience to learn something new, especially to get good at it. The hard part is it is expensive to learn, on your own, or with lessons. If I were to try knitting again, I’d get lessons, either from someone good at it, or from a store.

I want to learn to crochet. I can make a line…but I can’t start it myself or anything. I wish I had paid more attention to my Grandmother when she tried to teach me. It’s definitely a goal for this year to master it and make photo props!

I wish I were better at gardening on my patio!

Oh yes, I, too, wish I could knit! I can crochet simple things, and I have a nice even stitch, but knitting is beyond me. I’ve tried, but I’m all thumbs with knitting needles. I even tried one of those “knook” kits, which supposedly makes knitting like crocheting, but got nowhere. I did a little better with a knitting loom and was able to produce a few scarves. But I wish I could really knit! Good luck learning how to knit this year–if you do manage it, please post some updates. You might just encourage me to try again as well!

I used to know how to knit and even have proof, but for the life of me, I cant remember how. My Aunt taught me when I was a kid. Now, like you, it looks like a mess. I would love to take it up again. I love too make things.
