The lemon bars would definitely be my choice of these, but the lavender shortbread has me very interested, too. Since our extended family lives so far away we visit my best friend’s mother’s house for Easter. She is a chef, her son is a chef and my friend is the most amazing baker I know. She does a heavenly coconut cake each year, plus they make hand-made filled chocolate Easter eggs. It’s so over-the-top good! I’m normally a person who would cook and bake, too, but with this caliber of hosts, I stick to the fruit salad and my famous garlic and lemon dressed green salad. I will probably make cupcakes or cookies the week of Easter with our daughter, though. She’s only three, but LOVES baking- and eating!

I don’t blame you! Can I come to dinner with you? That sounds so sinfully delicious. However it certainly sounds like you are no slouch in the baking department either.

I’m not sure if I ever had that. I’m going to Goggle it and find a recipe. It sounds interesting.

I really am not good with deserts, but I think that Strawberry Cake would be a winner around here!!

We have Easter with another family every year. Plus, we invite others who are alone that day. This year several people are watching what they eat so we decided to scale down the desserts. I think we’ve settled on fresh fruit and ice cream sundaes (with frozen yogurt and sherbert). That way everyone can control their own portions and toppings.

What a wonderful idea! It is so thoughtful especially on a holiday that can be all about the sweets at times.

My favorite dessert to make for Easter is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, because you know…bunnies…carrots!

I love finding new recipes to surprise my family with for the holidays. These all look so good we just bought fresh strawberries so a strawberry cake sounds perfect for me to make for them today.
