Oh yeah there was simply no other word for it! I am not been MIA for the last few days. I have been in computer Hades! I had a quick family emergency that should have only taken me a day or two to deal with because it was fairly simple. Then I returned to work only to discover that things weren’t working the way that they were suppose to. I got in touch with technical support and I kid you not it has taken me two days to get someone who even remotely knew what I was talking about to help me. I am talking about an issue that took the lady like two seconds to solve has taken me days.
Days where I have wanted to rip out my hair. I kept explaining the same thing over and over to the point that I had it all typed out in my note pad and was just copying and pasting. Every single someone told me to do the same things I wanted to scream at the phone. I have done that!!! It was like they were reading form a script and didn’t have the slightest clue as to what I was talking about. The lady that I finally was able to talk to at first told me the same thing. I told it that wasn’t working and showed her the error I kept getting. She said, okay then let’s do this. BOOM! It was fixed. I swear I’m sending that chick a fruit basket or like a fruit of the month club or something.
I feel that if you don’t understand basic technical stuff you probably shouldn’t work in technical support or maybe at the least have a team of super smart, geeky people (not bashing, I love the geeks!) that you can transfer the person to and get them the help they need. Sadly that doesn’t happen even in the best of times. I know this is a rant but trust me when I tell you that the wording used here is much nicer than what I have been saying and thinking.
Where Does This Leave Me?
With a ton of work to get done in two days. So buckle up kiddies we have a lot to get through and no time to get to it all. I will have it all done though. That is one thing I refuse to do is not be ready come the weekend. Too much stuff has been planned and paid for. If you email me in the next day or so please be patient. I will get back to you the same day that you email me but it may not be right away.
