Today was the last day of public school here and tonight many of the kids will be graduating. None of mine are of course but we have friends who have kids walking across that stage tonight or over the weekend. Graduation around usually means that people we be coming over or we will be heading to someone else’s home.

Our Holiday Tradition: Avocado Pound Cake {#iloveavocados #amolosaguacates}

Avacados from Mexico

A few years ago I wanted to include more traditions from my husband’s culture into our holiday. Since I was just learning to make Mexican dishes I didn’t want to do something that would not taste good because I didn’t know how to make it. I thought about what I could make for Posadas which begins on December 16th and continues for 9 days in celebration of the journey to Bethlehem. I began talking to my mother in-law about Posadas recipes and what I could do. She told me to start my own tradition by making something I wanted.

Net10 Wireless Family Plan {#Net10Latino}

Net10 Wireless Logo

As you all know I have been having some issues with my contract phone and have talked before about the benefits of Net10 Wireless. Today I want to share with you the benefits of Net10 Wireless Family Plan. The plan is actually great because you get unlimited text, talk,and data for a low price. If you need 2 phones it is only $90 a month ($50 for the first phone and $40 for each additional), 3 phones would run $130 a month, and four phones would run $170 a month. The price for four phones is less than what we currently pay for a 3 phone contract plan. I love that Net10 Wireless also includes calls to both landlines and cell phones in Mexico as well as 100 other countries. It means talking to loved ones there won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I typically buy the Great Value at Wal-Mart because it is the cheapest and I buy the biggest thing available but when I checked the label I found Soy! I was so surprised.

A Little TLC When You Are Sick {Giveaway #KleenexSWS}

When you are sick all you really want is TLC. Growing up that usually meant chicken soup, lots of rest, and even more attention. It was great, although I always preferred my Grandma’s turkey soup to chicken. Now when someone is sick I am the caregiver which means lots of rest, homemade chicken soup, and me ready to pull out my hair. My mother is currently sick and I have never seen a bigger baby.

World Prematurity Day {#protectpreemies #rsv}

November 17th is World Prematurity Day which is the day dedicated to help raise awareness about prematurity and the potential risks that are associated with premature birth. 13 million babies are born premature worldwide every year and it is the leading cause of neonatal death. As a premature baby myself I can tell you that babies who are born prematurely have many more problems than those that are full term. I was so small that there was not even a diaper to fit me. I had to wear the mask that the doctors wear in the hospital and that was my diaper for a while. I spent time in an incubator allowing my lungs to fully develop which meant my parents couldn’t hold me as soon as they would have liked.
