Before I got a press I used two plates but somehow was never considered to be doing it right by my in-laws standards. Pressing your tortillas into the correct form is very important for the proper tortilla and the best way to do it is to have a tortilla press.

My Mexican Kitchen: Corn Husks {Giveaway}

No Mexican kitchen is complete without corn husks! They are a staple as they are used to make tamales. Although I must admit that mine are not as good as my mother in-laws but hey you can’t win them all right? I do have a confession to make, I don’t really like tamales but everyone in my family does. The Latin Products has you covered as far as corn husks go. You can get them in 1 lb, 10 lbs, or 24 lbs. If you are new to tamales I would suggest the 1 lb. to begin with.

Okay…this is something that every Mexican kitchen must have! I learned very early in my marriage that I could get away with a lot but not having a tortilla warmer was an absolute deadly sin. You will find all sorts of uses for them too. I keep bead warm in mine sometimes and even made a pie in it once. I didn’t have a dish high enough on the sides for a chocolate cream pie, pulled out my tortilla warmer, put the pie together and to this day everyone swears that was the best chocolate cream pie they have ever had and ask for my recipe.

The Latin Products

I have discovered another great  place to purchase Latin products from! It is The Latin Products and they are right here in Georgia!! How cool is that? While I didn’t visit them I did order two items and game them a try.  I must tell you that I was very thrilled to find a company within my own state. I knew that placing an order would mean I would get my item fairly quickly and I did.
