10 Things About You Probably Didn’t Know

Oct 03, 2019 | Rita

I shared these over at A Lucky Grace before but I thought I would share them with y’all as well. It is just another way I am making some changes over there.Changes that you will read about soon, if you haven’t already. I thought I would share some things that you may not know at all. Things that I typically keep to myself although I don’t make a secret of them.

1. I Use to Bit My Nails

Like all the time. Then one day about eight or nine years ago I just stopped. It was a nervous habit that I had. I still do it every once in a while but nowhere near as much as I used to. Now I like having nice nails.

2. I Talk to Myself in Shower

Yep and there is no telling what the conversation will be able. Sometimes I figure my budget in there, other times I work out a recipe I am having trouble with or just about anything else. It is my place to not have to do anything but think (and of course bath but I could do that in my sleep.)

3. I Love RV Remodels

I am always on Pinterest and Instagram looking at these. There is something about them that I just love. If I won the lottery I would be hard pressed not to buy one for myself and remodel it completely.

4. I Love Tiny Houses Too

Yet I couldn’t live in one. I don’t need a really large house but a tiny house would be too small for me. I love to look at them though. It is one of the things that my sister in-law I have in common. She loves looking at tiny houses and she sheds as well.

5. I Cry Easily

This is so true. When you read a book review and it says I cried, trust me I did. I will cry at the drop of a hat. I have no idea why but a commercial will make me cry. I’m very tender-hearted at times but can be hard occasionally too.

6. I Sing

I do and I sing well. There was always music in my house when I was growing up and I know all the words to tons of songs from the 50 until now. I also can play the piano and the guitar. I learned the piano from a neighbor when I was ten and picked up the guitar later. I don’t play as often now as I once did but I still enjoy it.

7. I Hate Tomatoes

With a passion, I’m talking loathe entirely in my Grinch voice. I don’t know why because I love ketchup, marina sauce, and other things like that made with them. I will order food that had them in it and then pick them out.

8. I Hate Baked Fruit

Yep! It’s true baked fruit turns my stomach. I can make an apple pie that is to die for but don’t ask me to eat any of it. That stuff is just so gross to me and I have no idea why. I have never liked it and most likely never will.

9. I Snore

Like a bear let me tell you. I’m talking the kind of snoring that will wake yourself up. I’ve done that too many times. Wake up and think what was that only to realize it was me and my snoring. Could be worse I guess. Everyone in my home snores, so if you ever walk onto the porch and think you hear a bunch of bears sleeping don’t worry. It’s just us.

10. It Has to Be Pitch Black When I Sleep

I hide the alarm clock under my bed, have room darkening blinds, and do whatever I need to  in order to ensure this. The darker it is the better. I never worry about tripping over anything since I know where it all is. Although I have broken a toe or two going to the bathroom in the middle of the might when I was still half asleep and misjudged the door for the wall.

Bonus….

I used to have blonde hair! Yep! Until after high school (well maybe about halfway through) my hair was blonde. It changed colors naturally for whatever reason. I never colored my hair until I was in my twenties. Another thing is I used to be skinny! Who knew! I didn’t begin to get heavy until high school. Apparently high school was rough for me (just kidding!) It was a starting point for a lot of things.

Tell me a little about yourself…anything quirky you do?

I’m with you on #3, 4, & 10!! My SO & I are currently doing #3 as our primary home, WHILE living in it… definitely not easy! ?

One of my quirks – I love sour gummies, and when I eat them I have to eat two of the same flavor/color together at a time (no mixing) – that way they die with their own kind. ?

I love that about the sour gummies! That is so awesome.

I wish I could sing well. I only do it in the car where nobody can hear. It’s that bad.

I bet your better than you think. One thing I have started doing is singing regardless of where I am or who’s watching. My sister and I were in the drive-thru yesterday signing with a song by Heart from the 80’s where it came on the radio. Then later at the house we were dancing around and singing to music our parents listened to when we were growing up.

I love tomatoes and baked fruit, but I do snore.

I don’t what it is about those two things that seem to make my stomach turn.

      You are so welcome!

  9. Amy Marshall says

Wow! I cry easily as well! Especially when it comes to my children. At a drop of a dime, I cry when it comes to happy and sad things.

    • Rita says

      September 19, 2018 at 8:11 am

I just can’t help the crying. It happens and I have learned to accept that it is just a part of who I am.

I love to sleep in a dark room, too. I have lots of color everywhere through the house…except my bedroom. It’s painted dark gray, solid color dark bedding, window shades and light blocking curtains, and we close the door to sleep.
And I love to play guitar.
I also sing…but only when alone–the sound is enough to frighten small children

I didnt know any of this! I too love to sing, but i am horrible at it. The car and the shoer are great places for me to sing. Lol!

  13. Veronica Lee says

I love to sing too, especially when I’m cooking! And in the car – it drives (don’t mind the pun) my family crazy!

  14. Kayley says

    November 27, 2018 at 11:54 am

I also hate tomatoes. I know they are healthy, but I can’t stand the texture…tomato sauce can be okay.

  15. Mary Gardner says

    November 27, 2018 at 5:27 pm

We have 3, 4, 5 and 6 in common and my children say I snore but I beg to differ!

  16. Sharon Braswell says

    November 27, 2018 at 9:37 pm

I do some of my best thinking in the shower too. I’m by myself and can think straight because of it! I also sing and learned to play the piano by ear. I am in awe of you for playing the guitar as well as the piano!! I’ve always heard learning to play the guitar is hard!! I cry at commercials too… Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

  17. Donna Cheatle says

    October 5, 2019 at 5:48 pm

I’m with you on 1,5, and 9. I also sing, but, here I’ll be honest, I do it terribly. I’m completely tone deaf and it shows, lol. I love to sing, I just don’t do it around people, lol.
