I don’t know about you, but what I love spending my money on the most is fun things to do with the kids. Things like going out on day trips, treating them to some new outdoor toys, or getting together for a big, delicious family meal. Of course, there are some tactics you can use to free up more money for these types of activities, just read on to find out what they are.
Stop paying for unnecessary things.
Unnecessary spending is something that can drain your available funds and stop you from doing fun things with the kids. Of course, unnecessary expenditures come in many forms, and you may not even be aware that some of these are eating into your fun budget.
For example, do you have subscription services or boxes that you not that into anymore or never use? If so you will be paying the monthly fee for nothing, and ultimately wasting this money that could be going towards something else. Therefore take the time to cancel any unused subscriptions as soon as possible.
Similarly, you may not realize that your high credit score means you are paying out more on any borrowing than someone with a lower score would. Luckily, there is a way to rectify this, and it’s by having your score repaired. To do this, it may be necessary to discover how to remove hard inquiries from credit reports, or even re-age them. Happily, you will be able to find information on these topics online, or you can seek help from a professional credit repair company.
Lastly in term of unnecessary spending, be very careful of impulse buys, especially when it’s items for the kids. After all, small toys and candy are often marketed to appeal to the little ones, who can’t understand that they may be eating into funds that will be needed later on.
Therefore try to limit impulse buys and ask kids to create a wishlist for items they want each month. Then they can have an allowance and get their favorites at the end of the month. Something which should not only help to preserve more money for fun stuff but also teach them the value of patience.
Pack those lunches.
It is, of course, tempting to treat yourself to a tasty bought lunch at work or save some time in the evening by not packing a sandwich for the kids. However, these actions can result in a substantial cumulative cost, a cost that will subtract fund from your family fun budget.
Therefore it’s vital that you pack up lunches both for yourself and for the little ones each night. Luckily, there are lots of healthy and straightforward suggestions for packed lunches online, and you may even want to try a snack and lunch station for the older kids?
A tactic where they collect an item from each pocket or box that you have prefilled and therefore end up packing their own lunch. Something that can result in saving you time and effort, as well as money for fun family outings.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

These are great ideas. I pack my fiance’s lunch every morning and it saves us a lot of money. He only likes Boar’s Head lunch meat and it is a little pricey but it would cost so much more if he ate out everyday.
