If you’re fortunate enough to have a garden, you need to make the most out of it. This is such a wonderful thing to have – it’s one of those elements you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve gone from not having a garden to having one, or vice versa.
As such, one of your home improvement projects should focus on upgrading your outdoor space. Clearly, you can do many different things here. However, this post will focus on some statement pieces you can add to your garden to give it a wow factor. You don’t have to use all of them – in fact, it’s probably best if you only picked one – and here are the suggestions I have in mind:
A Fountain
Have you ever gone out and visited a big park or some nice public gardens? If so, you’ve probably noticed that they always seem to have these grand fountain sculptures. They look so fantastic and really stand out. So, why don’t you get one in your garden?!
Sure, it won’t be as big as the ones you see in public, but the effect will be the same. It’s a proper statement piece that can sit in your garden and draw all the attention. Plus, it’s a nice little water feature that improves the ambiance as you can hear the fountain running. It also attracts birds who will use it as a bath, which is super cute.
A Pool
That’s right, you could install a pool in your back garden.
It’s the biggest project out of all three options on this list, but you could argue it has the grandest effect. You can find swimming pools in all sizes and designs. If we’re being honest, one that’s built into your garden is more visually pleasing than one above ground. But, this is a big investment as it’s hard to change your mind once the work has started.
Pools definitely give your garden a wow factor, and they are fantastic if you entertain a lot. Those of you who lack space may consider a smaller option – like a hot tub.
A Tree
Okay, hear me out before you make any judgments! What if you got a big tree planted in the middle of your garden? Or, it could be down at the bottom, but the point is you have this wonderful tree that will keep growing and become the main focal point of your outdoor space.
It’s great for the environment, but it can also make your garden look so pretty. Think about how it would look right now during the fall months as the leaves turn all red and golden. There are many different trees you could plant, and my suggestion is to pick a fruit tree so you have something that grows along with the tree itself.
You have a garden, so you may as well do something with it. Give it a statement piece; something that stands out and is a conversation starter when guests are over. I love the three ideas above, but feel free to come up with your own suggestions too.

I love the birds that fountains attract, but unfortunately they also cause neighborhood cats to come by and attack them…
