30 Days of Me: Day 14

Jan 14, 2013 | Rita

30 Days of Me

Day 14 — Things that make you scared. Oh wow where to begin this. I am such afraidy cat that it is not even funny. My list is pretty long but here are just a few of the things that make me scared.

First and foremost I am scared of the dark, but only when outdoors. Don’t ask me why I just am. I am also afraid of lizards and mice. I am talking to the point of climbing on top of the counter if I see one. Once when I was a teen a rat (not a mouse) got into our house and I spent the entire day sitting on top of our dining table waiting for someone to come home. This thing was as big as our cat who by the way was right there next to me!

Those are my top few, what are yours?

I’m a big worrywart/’fraidy cat myself. My biggest fears have to do with family. I fear that I will die in an accident and leave my two girls without a mother. Or, I fear that (hate to even write it) they will die in some horrible accident. A more everyday kind of fear I have is being home alone at night.

Lol! I’m the same way, Im scared to death of mice, rats, and snakes, and I refuse to walk outside when its dark unless I’m accompanied (which probably comes from all the dateline and 20/20 and ID I’ve watched in my lifetime). I lived in Florida for a few years and I was 7 mo. Pregnant with my first son we were all sitting on the couch watching a show with friends and in the corner of my eye a wolf spider the size of my hand (I’m not exaggerating literally the size of my hand fingers and all) was crawling on the wall I have never jumped so fast in my life I did what I call a Tom cruise move because I leaped over the couch. The worst part of it is that it got away i didn’t sleep for weeks.

I do not like mice at all, or spiders! I am mostly scared of is heights, I can not even get up very high without getting freaked out! I must be a baby!

I have a fear of roaches and insects like that, I don’t mind spiders though. But other creepy crawlies are just a NO for me

I get you on the rats. They are Uggggggly! Well, the wild ones that are all scruffy anyway. I actually let my kids get a rat once, and a couple times a hamster. Most everyone though I was nuts to allow that. But, we couldn’t have a cat or dog in a rental and I didn’t want to deny my kids a pet.

I am not at all afraid of MICE but hate, hate bats. I am so afraid of them. Once one got in our house. And my sister and I locked ourselves in the bathroom and put towels down to stop up the space under the door. Then got into the laundry closet on TOP of the washer and dryer and shut those louvered doors until my brothers got rid of it. I know some people will not like this but my brother climbed out the window on the house and took out the window slider and got it as it hung on our wall in the corner. My mom was so mad it left a little bb hole in our wall but we though our brother, only about 11 years old was our HERO. He saved our lives from that ugly upsidedownhanging rodent. uggh!

I am not much afraid of anything nature-wise (mice, rats, snakes etc) although if I lived somewhere with alligators I might not like those. Bats in the house I dont care for but find them fascinating on a summer night watching how effortlessly they catch bugs.

I’m not afraid of much but if I hear a noise in the dark I’m afraid of what it might be and then I’m afraid.

My biggest fear besides my families health and safety is of closed in spaces. I hate when I am in tight spaces or even if a article of clothes is to tight. It gives me a panic attack.

Spiders. Your story of sitting atop the table all day in fear of a rat??? Yep…for me it’s spiders. I don’t like the rats, mice, lizards, bugs, etc, but those make me just run away squealing for someone to get it out of the house. With spiders, it is full blown, screaming panic.

Snakes… Don’t like them at all and never will.
