Day 21 — Your favorite movie. This one is fairly easy but it is not for the reasons that you all will think. My favorite movie is Gone With the Wind. I just love it and don’t mind that it takes half a day to watch the entire thing. I love when it comes on every year because it means a full day of me on the couch driving the rest of the house crazy because they don’t really like it.
I don’t like Gone With the Wind because it is such a romantic movie or because it is all about the South. I love that it is what great movies are supposed to be without all the violence, language, and sex that seem to have become the norm in movies today. The acting in it is simply wonderful. My favorite scene in the entire movie is when Scarlet falls down the stairs. Not because she gets hurt or because I am violent or anything but to be honest because she deserves it.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

ooh Favorite movie, That is a tough one! I would think that mine would be Remember the Titans. because it is about arising from discrimintation, banding together and beating the odds.

My favorite movie is hands down It’s a Wonderful Life. It reminds me of Christmas, faith, friends and triumph over oppression. And like you, it is a classic movie that doesn’t need violence or profanity to be a good film. I have loved “old” black and white movies since I was a kid. Today, I love all movies, right down to the most current ones, but if given the option, I will sit there and watch AMC or TMC all day long.

I don’t know that I can isolate it to one movie, so I’m going to go with my most recent favorite. It’s a movie from 1985, called “D.A.R.Y.L”, which was about a little boy that loses his memory and is taken in by a foster family. He is a prodigy in nearly everything he tries and they come to find out that he’s actually a robot. His name, Daryl, stands for “Data Analyzing Robot Youth Lifeform”. There’s more to the movie, but I would encourage you to watch it to find out what happens.

I’ve never seen gone with the wind I guess I need to take a day to watch it finally just like the breakfast club…..this is a tough one because I love all types of movies, favorite funny movie I’d say its a tie between ‘Money pit’ & ‘the sandlot’ , favorite sad movie ‘the perks of being a wallflower’ I bawled my eyes out mostly because I felt like it was telling my story, and my favorite drama is ‘the prestige’ great acting and I just thought it was all around entertaining!

MY favorite movie is also the Shawshank Redemption! I can and do watch it over and over. I have never seen Gone With the Wind completely, as NO one wants to watch it with me> All those years my dad told me I HAD to see it and wish I had watched it with him now.
Anyway, You made me LOL about Scarlet deserving the fall down the steps. haha. Now I have to see it!
I agree about the violence and sex too. Geesh. I see more on regular tv now than I saw with R movies over 30 years ago. It’s sad…

I absolutely can not name a favorite movie. We are movie buffs and have a big collection, so I might be able to narrow it down to the top 100 🙂 I can say that ‘Gone with the Wind’ would not be among my faves–I may be the only person my age who has never seen the whole thing. I can’t make myself watch it—ewww; shudder!

gone with the wind is a great movie. I would have to say one of my favorite movies is Bridget Jones Diary. I can always put it on when I need a laugh. I also like how the good guy wins the girl in the end.
