Day 24 — your earliest memory. My earliest memory is of my dad. He had a wart on the palm of his right hand and I can remember being small and holding his hand while walking into church. I remember always feeling it there and somehow I always felt so safe. I can even remember when I was around six and it was taken off. I remember walking into to church that Sunday after, holding his hand rubbing my little fingers back and forth trying to find the wart. Somehow without it my dad felt different to me.

What is your first memory?
Jean Fisher says
When I was very young, both my parents worked and my grandmother, who lived with us, took care of me at home. She always wore her long hair up in a neat bun. At night, she would let it down and brush it before bed. I loved to sneak in and watch her. Her hair was a beautiful soft silver color. She died when I was 5 so I feel very fortunate to have such a strong memory of her.

One of my earliest memories is as a kid I used to watch my dad shave every morning. when he was done shaving his face he would pretend to shave my face. It’s still one of my best memories.

Aaw that is so sweet. My earliest memory is first grade taking care of the caterpillars and letting them free at the back of the school it was such a beautiful site to see more than a hundred butterflies at once

That is so sweet! My earliest memory is of a dress I was wearing and a house we lived in before I was 2. Mymother was astounded that I could remember something so early.

My first memory is from Kindergarten. I remember speaking Spanish to the kids in. my class and wondering why they didn’t understand me. My mother only spoke Spanish, but my father and siblings all were bilingual. At 5, I would mix up the English and Spanish, that nobody would understand me.

My earliest memory was a traumatic one, that is why I remember it so young. I remember waking up from a nap, having my mom go berserk after checking my temp under my arm, and then racing to the hospital with me. I was out for a long time and then remember them putting me into ice. Then out again. I awakened in a BABY crib and I was SO mad! I climbed out and tiptoed to a huge, heavy door that I eventually got open. I peeked out and saw people in black and white dresses. I thought it was a church. It was actually a catholic hospital with nuns and I was there because I had the German measles and almost died with seizures and an out of my head fever past 106, actually 107. I never remembered actually BEING sick, just mad they put ME, a BIG girl of age 3 in a baby bed that was metal and sort of like a cage. My mom thinks there is NO way I could remember but I do! I remember too much of silly and bad things but I cant remember now where my purse or sunglasses are (when they are on my shoulder or perched on my head) or what I made for dinner last night. LOL!
So nice you have that calm and protective memory of your Dad!

My eaarliest memory is riding a trike from my Aunts house to our house (she lived next door) and taking notes she and my Mom wrote back and forth playing postman. I think they did the notes to keep me busy.

My earliest memory is my little sister and I woke up early one morning before my parents, I was about 4 my little sister was about 3 and my little brother was 2. He was in his crib and my sister and I took EVERYTHING we could find from shampoo and lotion to boxes of cereal and bags of flour and sugar and dumped it in a pile on his bedroom floor… we were “battering” all of his things and throwing them into his crib with him. I remember the look on my mom’s face starting out in a horrified Oh MY look and changing into hysterical laughter as she undressed us and threw us all in the bath tub. My mom to this day swears that is the only reason I know how to fry chicken is because I started so early. 🙂

My earliest memory is when I was in like 2 or 3rd grade and we had to memorize multiplication tables. Well I remember going into my grandmas bedroom and sitting by her bed and me saying over and over again the times tables until I memorized them. Those were the days only had to worry about school, I really missed those days 🙂

My earliest memory is standing up in my crib, shaking my bottle and seeing it was empty, so I threw it on the ground. Mom didn’t believe I could remember back to crib yrs till I told her that, she said I used to throw my bottle like that all the time
