Day 04 — Your favorite book
While yesterday’s was really hard today’s is not. My favorite book is easily A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I love the story line and even though it takes me a little longer to read than most because the language can be difficult I read it at least once a year. The love story is amazing and make no mistake about it, this is a love story! While there is intrigue and suffering, and many other aspects to this wonderful book in the end it all comes down to one man’s love of a woman. He loves her so much that he gives his own life so that she may have the one she loves. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Have you read A Tale of Two Cities? Did you like it, hate it? Tell us about it.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I’ve actually never read it before. But I should i often hear references to the book. My favorite book is east of Eden by John Steinbeck.

You know, I’ve read quite a bit of Dickens but A Tale of Two Cities is the one title I’ve never read. I will have to check it out. I don’t know that I have just one favorite book, but one that I read and loved in recent years is The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. It too centers on a powerful love story and raises interesting questions about fate vs. free will. I first read it when I was pregnant with my first child and loved it so much I packed it in my hospital bag when I was ready to deliver!

I never read a tale of two cities, it was required in high school, but there were other options, and I was in no way interested in it.

Oh and have not read A Tale of Two Cities since probably Lit class. I don’t even remember what it was about. I need to re read the classics.

I have not actually read A Tale of Two Cities. It’s on my list now, though!
I almost have to break down my favorite books into categories, but if I had to choose one, other than the Bible, I would say John Milton’s “Paradise Lost”. It’s an allegorical story, in the form of a narrative, epic poem, about the fall of mankind. It’s a fantastic perspective on the Biblical narrative of the fall of mankind.
