Do you find yourself dragging yourself out of bed every morning? Are you always sluggish and lethargic? Or perhaps you feel that you are always coming down with something? Here are some things you can do if you are always feeling sick and tired.
1. Consult your doctor – the regular feeling of being sick and tired may stem from a sickness, and you will need to make sure that you get a proper diagnosis from a doctor. Do not attempt to diagnose yourself or self-medicate as this is very dangerous. It may not even be a serious disease but you will be advised to take some supplements or vitamins that can help you feel more energized and motivated. Schedule a consult with your physician as soon as possible to eliminate any doubt and anxiety you may feel.
2. Prioritize getting a restful, regular sleep – you may not think it is important, but getting enough sleep can do wonders. If you have been feeling sluggish all the time, it may be because you are only sleeping a few hours at a time, or your sleep is always interrupted. Lack of sleep can make a person feel more stressed and there are other physical effects that can get you sick. Try to prioritize sleep and keep anything that will interrupt you from a restful sleep out of your bedroom.
3. Make some lifestyle changes – if you are always feeling sick and tired, there may be some things in your life that you will need to eliminate or adjust. Do you always eat food that is not healthy for you? Then you will need to start transitioning to eating a healthier diet. Do you have vices such as smoking or drinking? This may have all contributed to how you are feeling now. You need stop smoking and if it is hard, you may get some professional help who can advise you on how to quit drinking. These changes will not happen overnight and there are times when you will be required to make sacrifices and there will be times when you will want to quit and go back to your old ways. But you will find that the sacrifices are worth it when you see just how the quality of your life will improve as you make these changes.
4. Take some time off – if the stress is getting too much, and you are both physically and mentally tired, some time off for rest and relaxation is a good thing. While the ideal would be to pack your bags and go for a week at some resort or the like, the reality is not a lot of people have the luxury of doing so. But you can still do this every day. Just set aside some time for yourself. Don’t do anything connected to work, etc. You can just practice some breathing relaxation techniques or perhaps you can take a short walk at a park nearby. Give yourself a mental reprieve and you’ll find yourself feeling more relaxed as time goes by.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Good tips. I started sleeping a lot better when I made changes in the bedroom—darker colors, very little decor, room darkening curtains, a saund machine. It has helped a lot.

Timely article. I also find that not eating before bed helps with getting a restful night’s sleep and staying hydrated throughout the day helps my energy level tremendously.
