Cookbooks are my hidden obsession. I love looking at them, reading them, and, on occasion, trying out the recipes. It has been a while since I bought one, but that doesn’t mean I have stopped looking. Summer is the perfect time, for me at least, to try out a new cookbook. During the summer, I am always looking for recipes to pull us out of our usual rut. Let’s face it, you can only grill burgers and hotdogs so many times.
Salads: Fresh, Healthy, and Easy Salad Recipes That Can Be Made in Minutes: a Cookbook
During the summer, turning on the oven and stove can make things much hotter than they already are. That is why there are days that I love a good salad. It can be refreshing, but I always seem to fall into the salad rut. I never have any idea of what to add to spice things up some. Salads: Fresh, Healthy, and Easy Salad Recipes That Can Be Made in Minutes: a Cookbook can help with that. It is full of salads that will help make your dinner delicious. Maybe you need a salad for the neighborhood barbeque? This is the book that will help you slay that.
The Egg Cookbook: The Creative Farm-to-Table Guide to Cooking Fresh Eggs
EGs are something I struggle with as well. I need to eat more eggs, but they aren’t my favorite thing to eat. Not to mention, I only know so many ways to make them. That is why I want to try The Egg Cookbook: The Creative Farm-to-Table Guide to Cooking Fresh Eggs. It has 110 unique egg recipes that will spice up any meal. Who knows? I may even learn to enjoy eggs! Okay, that is most likely not going to happen, but I could learn to eat them a little more often.
Nadiya’s Family Favourites
I am a huge Nadiya Hussain fan! I was so excited when she won The Great British Bakeoff and I enjoy her other two shows on Netflix. That is why her Nadiya’s Family Favourites cookbook is one that I ordered this morning. I will definitely be trying some of her recipes. On her show, she does this meatloaf Wellington thing that my uncle has been harassing me to make for him. While it looks like a far too heavy meal for the summer, I will certainly let you know which one I do try out.
For the Love of Popsicles: Naturally Delicious Icy Sweet Summer Treats from A–Z
For the Love of Popsicles: Naturally Delicious Icy-Sweet Summer Treats from A–Z is a must-have if you have children or seniors who enjoy popsicles. After all, there are only so many ways I know how to make these. Popsicles are like my eggs in the treat world. I have two or three recipes and use them all the time. This cookbook has a honey mint that sounds good. This summer may end up being full of sweet, healthy treats for my family.
Half Baked Harvest Cookbook: Recipes from My Barn in the Mountains
I have been eyeing the Half Baked Harvest Cookbook: Recipes from My Barn in the Mountains for a while now. There is something about the cover that just draws me in. I wanted to get a copy and try all of the recipes in it, but something kept stopping me. I have no idea why or what, but this summer is the summer I get this book and do something with it. I will certainly let y’all know how these turn out.
Those are the five cookbooks I plan on giving a go this summer. Of course, they are just the tip of the iceberg, and you can check out all my picks on my Amazon Store. Finding a cookbook or two that helps me plan meals is something I do every season. It’s so easy to fall into the rut of cooking the same things over and over again. It happens to me all the time, and I hate it when that happens. Purchasing a new cookbook is like embarking on a new adventure with each page. So get out there this summer and cook something amazing!

I’d love to read the salad cookbook. My salads are always the same and could use some changing up.
