You can’t lose weight without making some changes and putting some time and effort in. However, there are ways to lose weight without going for a gruelling hour run in the rain or having to cook complex meals from scratch. By adopting ‘lazy’ weight loss methods, you may be able to save time and stay motivated. Below are just a few lazy ways to lose weight.
Exercise in front of the TV
Exercise can be important for helping to burn calories. Finding the motivation to do an intense workout can be difficult though – most of us would much rather spend our free time catching up on our favourite TV shows than heading to the gym.
A compromise could be to watch TV and work out. There are lots of forms of exercise from push ups to squats to cycling on an exercise bike which you can do in your living room in front of the TV. Being able to watch TV in the comfort of your home while exercising could motivate you to stick to a more regular exercise plan. This guide at Bustle lists a few exercises that you can do in front of the TV.
Try diet shakes
Shake diets such as the Shake That Weight diet are quite popular – and it’s easy to see why. Such shakes are tasty and easy to prepare (they typically come in sachets). They can allow you to cut down your calories without having to cook complex meals. Make sure to read reviews beforehand in order to choose the right company – if you’re replacing meals with shakes, it’s important that they still have enough protein and that they’re not full of sugar.
Try healthy meal subscriptions
There are lots of healthy meal subscription companies out there. These are meal kits sent to your home that are healthy while also tasting great. Some of these require you to cook from scratch, however others will provide shortcuts for you such as already cutting up and portioning out ingredients. There’s also the option of microwavable healthy meals, as well as hot meals delivered straight to your door (pretty much takeout, but healthy). Be wary that some of these meal subscriptions can be quite expensive.
Shorten your shopping trip (cut out the snacks)
If going food shopping is a chore for you, why not shorten your shopping trips? Buying less food could be the easy solution if you have a habit of eating too much. Snacks like chips, cookies, chocolate, candy and ice cream are often the biggest culprit. You’re more likely to feast on snacks at home if you’ve got them in your cupboards – so start removing some from your shopping list.
Look into weight loss supplements
There are pills that claim to help you lose weight. Taking these pills alone won’t cause you to shed those extra pounds. However, taking these supplements could help to speed up weight loss while you’re improving your diet and exercising. It’s worth always reading reviews of supplements to get an idea of what is trusted by experts.
