This week was a bit better than last if I am being honest. I am certainly taking all the time I need and learning not to rush things along. I will say there are moments when it is frustrating. One of the biggest frustrations is not being able to pull my pants up as easily as I have in the past. I know it is something I am going to complain about a lot. However, one handed just doesn’t work as easily as two hands do.
That’s my big complaint for the week! I am trying to be more positive as difficult as that can be. Some days are better than others. There are days where I am just wiped out though. For example Easter Sunday did me in. At like seven that evening I went to bed. I just felt bad and couldn’t really explain why. So, I slept. I do have some important appointments coming up this month and will be sure to let y’all know how they go. The first is with my physical medicine doctor. I haven’t seen her yet and honestly I’m not sure what to expect. She only works two days a week so I had to wait to get any sort of appointment with her.
1. Yelled at MyChart
Okay, all of my doctors and the hospital use the MyChart system. Normally I love this system because it means that I can see what is going on when my doctor does. However, this week it drove me up a wall. Not that it was MyChart’s fault at all. I mean it can’t give me test results that it doesn’t have.
2. Had A Scary Moment
The doctor’s office called early one morning and said my mother needed to come in that morning right away. Well, she had had a CAT Scan done the week before and nothing will make you worry like that phone call will. When managed to get there only to find out that they needed more tests and she needs to have a bronchoscopy done. We will meet with the surgeon in July because that is the earliest appointment he has available. She has something going on in her lungs that her doctor just isn’t sure about. It is not cancer but there is scarring that he thinks has to do with her arthritis but he needs to take a better look.
3. Enjoyed Time Out in the Sun
I actually spent far more time outside this week than I have in the past. The doctor wanted my mother to walk for minutes twice a day using her oxygen. It’s easier for her to push me along while her tank hangs from the back of my chair. Don’t worry, it is not hard for her to push my chair. It moves very smoothly and easily. Being outside though helped both of us.
4. Moved My Left Hand
Remember how I told you I was beginning to feel my fingers? Well, this week I was able to move my hand. I woke up one morning and it just moved. I still can’t move the arm or grasp anything in that hand but I can move it back and forth. If I concentrate enough I can wiggle my fingers. That takes a little more work.
5. Watched Television
I know I have been sharing what I am watching but this was overly busy and I simply watched a few episodes of Midsomer Murders. I have seen all of the ones I watched but felt like watching them again.
Does anyone have any show recommendations? I normally like British mystery shows and movies but also enjoy comedy and drama. True crime is another favorite of mine and I can handle some westerns.
That was pretty much the sum of my week. It was good and I felt like I was able to do more than I have done in the last month. Even if I actually did less if that makes any sort of sense.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a very busy week. Hope things go well with your mom. It is wonderful you can move your hand. As for TV, I started to watch a British detective show called Vexed. I have only watched one but it was funny. When I can’t decide on anything, I always fall back on the Great British Baking Show.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like you had a busy week. I am trying to think a show to recommend but can’t right now. I am watching older shows on DVD right now.
