Most all of us are at home and at this point fighting boredom. For me I read a lot and have a large to be read pile. I also began watching a series on Acorn TV. It has thirteen seasons and I am starting at the beginning. I will update y’all on how I am liking it once I get a little further into it. I am attempting to not spend too much time watching television or allowing the family to do that either.
1. READ
Okay, this was a given with me being me. Read all the books you can on your list. Those books that you have been dying to read. Take some time and read book series with your children. They will love it and so will you. If your library is closed or you can’t get there be sure to check if they offer online lending. Some library systems have that available, where you can borrow e-books. I know that reading is not for everyone and many will watch television. I am not against, I just try to limit of tv time here.
2. ART PROJECTS
Kids loves doing art projects! Ma loves to paint as well, so we doing some of those during the day as well. If you are artistic then this may be a great idea for you. My sister in-law does tumblers and she has been doing those. Many people color to calm themselves and again, this will be something that you can do while sitting at home.
3. PLAY GAMES
Playing games is always a great way to beat boredom. With the family we play all sorts of board games. We don’t do it everyday because I want to keep it fun and fresh. Ma and my uncle both have games on their tablets that they play and enjoy. My uncle loves playing casino games online. I have played a few of those and if you are looking for some you can click here. They are something I play when I am in the mood.
4. SPRING CLEAN
If there was ever a time to Spring Clean the house, right? I went through over the weekend and did some of that. I did gather a bag of stuff to donate, like clothing but I will wait before I take it to the locations. I went through and disinfected all surfaces one good time. One tip I do have for you. If you can’t find disinfectant wipes like I wasn’t able to. My local store had those cleaning wipes, so I purchased some of those and a bottle of bleach. I poured a little bleach (not much like a cap full or two) into the wipe container and let it soak through. I will help with the cleaning some.
5. LEARN SOMETHING NEW
Have you wanted to learn a new language but haven’t had the time? Maybe you want to learn to sew or something else. Now is the perfect time. You can fill your hours with learning a new skill. Maybe pick up some online classes and surprise not only yourself but also your family and friends. There are several things that I want to learn and I always say there isn’t enough time. I am going to attempt to pick up at least one of these during this time.
Of course if you are like me and work form home it is business as usual for the most part. I have noticed the amount of emails I get concerning the virus has increased. I have also getting so many scams. Like the I need to pay my Amazon Prime because my card has been declined, when I know I pay for a year at a time. A date that is in my calendar and so now this month. I also have some new requests for work. Other than the kids being at home and being a little more careful than normal things have been the same. I had to go the the pharmacy this morning and our little town looked like a ghost town.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO KEEP THE BOREDOM AT BAY DURING THIS TIME? LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
