A 101 on Renting a Storage Facility Bin

Jan 27, 2016 | Rita

There are lots of different storage container rental companies such as https://www.guardianselfstorage.com.au/ out there nowadays and their services can be accessed by companies and the general public as well. The market for this type of business is absolutely huge. While they were once only used by companies that wanted to lower their storage costs, they are now suitable for everybody. But they remain popular with businesses, who have complex storage requirements, often only for certain periods of time.

For instance, a company that operates in the retail sector may need to have some extra storage during the holiday season, when people start to shop. This is when they may want to find a company that specializes in renting out storage containers. This container will offer them a safe place to keep their extra stock, instead of having to go off site, which is far more expensive as well. That’s right, many storage containers are now fully portable!

As said, however, they are equally suitable for domestic users. Someone who is moving home or engaged in complex renovations, for instance, may require a storage facility while they are busy with their work.

How to Find a Good Company

In order to find a good company, you need to look for one that offers a fantastic service and excellent deals. The internet is a great tool to use in terms of your search for companies. Make sure you check out the various customer reviews so that you know whether the company is as good as what they say they are. Ask your friends for referrals as well, it is likely that you know someone who has used a container in the past.

Do focus particularly on customer service. If someone is able to properly answer any questions you may have, you will know their staff is reliable. You do also have to make sure that you have had all your concerns properly addressed before you agree to work with a certain company. Once of those concerns may be security. Your unit has to have a proper locking system included with it, so that you don’t risk getting broken in to.

Rust resistance is also very important. If the unit can rust, there is a chance that your belongings will get damaged either. You have to make sure, therefore, that you actually look at the container itself before you agree to rent it. Have a look for damages that were already there and either ask for another one, or make sure an official note is made of this damage.

You can also have your units customized with some companies. This is very useful, for instance, for schools that require a storage building as a spare classroom for a period of time. They can also be used as portable offices for the construction industry, for example. Effectively, they can be converted into anything you like. It is for good reason, therefore, that more and more people are now even building homes out of them!

This is great information, and timely. My son and DIL will be moving from their house to an apartment in San Francisco, where they will only stay a couple of years for my son’s fellowship. They will be down-sizing a lot, but there will be some things that need to be stored. We have been trying to figure out how best to do that.

We have one of these places near here that is building climate-controlled spaces. They are hoping to open in the spring.

I think companies like these are a life saver in many ways. They’re just so expensive. Companies like Pod. Always want to use them but geez, can’t afford it…
