About the Book
Somehow able to telepathically communicate with animals, Paisley Munro has found meaning in her so-called gifts by working as a veterinary assistant. But while traveling to Scotland for a relative’s funeral, Paisley fears that she really has lost her mind. Out in the highlands, she hears distinctly human thoughts coming from a wild bear. Terrified and desperate, she returns to the lodge and collapses in the powerful arms of its owner, a mysterious man with whom she shares a simmering attraction.
Creighton Matheson and his fellow shape-shifters have been roaming this land freely for centuries. Now Paisley may inherit his home, putting his kind in grave danger. His mistrust only deepens when he realizes she can read his mind. Yet he cannot deny that this tantalizing woman makes him burn with desire—and hunger for the prospect of a tender love. Now Creighton must decide which would hurt more: revealing the truth or losing Paisley forever.

My Thoughts
In this book we get to meet Effie for the first time and she is full of laughs from the beginning to the end! Pink hair and all this lady needs her own story but I am pretty sure is would be rated XXX.
“Gram walked between the brothers, and slipped an arm through each man’s bent elbow. When she glanced over her shoulder at Paisley, her eyes gleamed with pleasure. “These two are mine, sweet pea. The next man in a kilt is yours. In Scotland, it’s every woman for herself.”
I must say I really love Creighton’s bear too! He is always hungry and doesn’t want to deal with crying or angry females. Creighton falls in love with Paisley from the beginning even if only his bear recognizes it. He has a hard time trusting what he is feeling though because he thinks she has come to sell of his home. Creighton is very sensual in so many ways and he isn’t afraid to tell Paisley what he is feeling either.
“Now, go call yer fiance and tell him ye’ve just come from the arms of a Scottish laird who desires ye more than his next breath. Fer I mean to have ye, Paisley, and I’ll enter the bowels of hell to fight fer your heart.” He slowly slid her down his frame, determination blazing from his eyes.
Oh, dear Lord. He means it. She spun and hurried from Creighton’s office as if the hounds of hell nipped at her heels.”
Paisley can hear Creighton’s thoughts or rather she can hear his bear’s. He frightens her but she can’t deny her attraction either. There is just problem….she has a fiancée back home that Creighton is determined to forget about. Not to mention a Gram who knows that her fiancée doesn’t make her feel a tenth of what Creighton does, a ghost telling her she is the answer to a curse, and oh yeah that fiancée who wants her to get home so he can start making money off her gift. There are so many parts of this book to love but the argument at dinner had me spewing wine everywhere!
“She slapped his shoulder. “You… you go down to breakfast, Gram. I’ll be there as soon as I shower and dress.”
“Have you been exercising? You sound out of breath.”
Creighton buried his face in a pillow, his body shaking with laughter.
Gram knocked on the door. “Do you have a man in there with you?”
“No, Gram…”
He pushed himself off the pillow and sat, his large hands sweeping dark hair away from his face. “Aye, she bloody well does.”
Clapping sounded from the other side of the door followed by Gram’s bellowing “Born to be Wild.”
I loved every second of this book. My only complaint is that it was Bryce and Creighton (for understandable reasons) that got to punch the fiancée. I cannot wait for the next book about Ronan and I am really hoping that Kendric gets his own story!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Ok, so how did I miss these? Oh, yes. I’m new here! So, thank you.. I’ve just added a couple of new books to my reading list! Love it. Will be back. p.s. One of my friends posted a question on Facebook: “Anyone know when Outlander returns?” I just jumped over here and then sent her the answer. Duh! We were laughing out loud because I told her days, hours and minutes!

I love these book review posts, I have made more time for reading these days, and have been pretty good about trying new genes to read that I thought wouldn’t interest me, and I am turning out that I love having a open mind, as I have read some great ones over the few weeks. Going to have to check this series out.
