As we come out of our twenties and get to grips with our thirties we start to realize that our bodies are changing a little. You may still feel like a youngster however your body might be showing the signs of all those late nights and early starts.
Think of your body as you would your car, just for a moment. We spend a lot of time and money servicing our cars. Ensuring we are putting in the right oil, the correct fuel and having regular check ups to tell us if there is anything going wrong. We slip additive into the fuel tank to keep it running clear and sometimes completely detox the engine by having a nice fresh oil change. However, do we do the same to our bodies. A 3 year old car with loads of miles and a bad service history, could let you down more than a 15 year old car which has been looked after and has a nice sensible mileage. Well. The same can be said for your body.
We all know what we should be eating and how much exercise we ought to be taking. We respect that smoking, drinking and various other forms of naughty habits, aren’t helping us stay young. Yet, we still do it. Some of us do it with gay abandon, adopting the live fast, die young attitude, although our thoughts on this tend to change when we start knocking on the forties. Some of us are just so busy rushing around after work and children that we find it hard to take really good care of ourselves.
Whilst the best way of looking after your body is by eating a healthy and clean diet, taking 30 minutes of exercise a day and enjoying lots of regular and good sleep, there are some extra supports that we can add to our daily routines which will help improve our health as we grow older and take us sprinting into our sixties. Obviously we don’t mean they will get you there quicker, you’ll just arrive there with the ability to sprint, instead of dragging yourself past this milestone.
Firstly Omega 3. Found in fish, olive oil and avocado, this healthy fat is what our body needs to improve our joints and keep our hearts healthy. As we get older, especially when women reach the menopause, we lose bone density and our skeletons become weaker. This is made even worse for those of us who carry too much weight or have very little muscle to support our frames. So if you are concerned you aren’t getting enough omega 3 in your diet (eg you are allergic to nuts, hate avocado and fish makes you gag) then finding a good supplement is the way forward. You can find tablets which contain cod liver oil but don’t have that terrible after taste of the old days. Whilst taking omega 3 in a supplement doesn’t give you the other vital nutrients you will find in fish, it does mean your body is getting a regular and consistent dose of omega 3, which will leave you feeling more mobile in later years.
Hair loss is another area that both men and women suffer from. You may not believe it now as you seem to spend half your life shaving, waxing and microblading. Also, unfortunately, the places we notice hair loss are never the places we want to lose it. So you may find your hair is getting thinner but your moustache is getting darker.
Men tend to notice thinning hair first, whereas women might notice it in their eyebrows. There are lots of natural remedies to keep your follicles in good condition, such as rubbing olive oil on eyebrows for five minutes a day. However if you are looking for something more dramatic then you can order finasteride online. Finasteride is the generic version of the well known brand, Propecia. Finasteride works by preventing testosterone being converted to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which allows the hair follicles to regain their normal size. This can help you keep hold of your hair a little longer.
Don’t be put off by health experts telling you that supplements should be avoided. Whilst it is true the best care we can take of our bodies is through natural and clean foods, it may not always be possible. So if you can combine the two and even use a little alternative therapy too, you can be sure you are delivering the best care to yourself. Just be careful you aren’t overdoing it. Too much Vitamin C can be bad for you, as an example. So talk to your doctor and let him know what you are taking to support your diet.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

The universe is talking to me. This is the third article out of the blue I’ve read today on omega-3’s and their benefits. I’ve got joint inflammation that is really causing me serious pain. I think it’s time to try these.

All of the above are true. My worst aging problem is my hair. I have a lot in the back and not so much in the front! Thank you for all the suggestions.
