There was a time not so very long ago when there was a great deal of mistrust for online businesses. From eCommerce ventures to professional services as independent contractors, it seemed as though society wasn’t ready to accept anyone as being “professional” who didn’t have an office with a recognised company or corporation.
There are still a few people who prefer to only deal with established brands, but they are becoming fewer and fewer as time goes on. This has opened the door for so many professional women who would otherwise give up their careers to be a stay at home mum. If this sounds like you and something you would be interested in doing, know that there is no reason why you can’t run a successful online business from home.
When Children Are Your Top Priority
There is nothing quite like being a mum and as rewarding as a career was/is in your life, it can’t top the fact that children have brought something special into your life. In fact, knowing how lucky you are to have your kids and feeling something quite depressing about those kids who can’t be with their parents for some reason, you’ve decided to become a foster carer. You’ve got the love to share, so why not share it!
After speaking with the wonderfully caring people at fcascotland.co.uk in Glasgow, your resolve was solidified. You decided that you had something to give and there is no reason why you can’t share the love your heart is overflowing with. Actually, it is just this kind of compassion that will make you great at just about any business you decide to run.
But What About Your Career?
Does this mean you can’t have a career? Absolutely not! You very well can pursue a career but if you don’t want to be away from home a great number of hours, why not bring your career home with you? There is a growing number of what we now call “mompreneurs” who are doing exactly what you’d like to do at this point in your life.
They are launching successful businesses online from home and have found it quite fulfilling. It is possible to be there for the kids because they make their own hours and have found that it is so much less stressful this way. Learning the Fine Art of Scheduling
Unless you had ever worked in HR or some position within management, you may never have learned the fine art of scheduling. Thankfully, the only person you need to schedule is yourself, so that shouldn’t be so difficult, should it? Actually, once you get a feel for it, you’ll find that it works quite well. In fact, it will probably suit you much better than that corporate 9 to 5 you’ve always dealt with. Just make sure to work around times when you are less likely to be needed by the kids.
It could mean scheduling your work hours during times they are at school or perhaps calling in an au pair or mum’s helper to keep the little people occupied whilst you’re working at your newfound online business. You really can make it work. Just know right up front that you must work with a bit of fluidity because one or the other may need you more at any given moment and that’s okay. It will be a learning process, but in the end, one you’ll be glad you took the time to learn. You’ll have the best of both worlds.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
