It takes so little to gain a new perspective on anything. As the new year is approaching rather quickly and we will all be working on those resolutions that don’t always work out for us I thought I would treat a lucky reader to a whole new perspective. The one that you get when you look through the lens of a camera. It takes one look through the lens of a camera to see the world in a whole new light.
You can all actually thank my brother for this giveaway. When he was here recently he showed me some pictures of his son he took one night. Reese was watching a video and my brother took a couple dozen photos. Each images showing the amazement and wonder on Reese’s face as he watched the video. Each one allowing me to experience the joy Reese felt just by looking at them. That is something that only happens when you look at a photograph. It captures brief moments in time that others get to share with us.
The camera 1 reader will win is the Canon EOS Rebel and I will tell you that it is a great camera. I have given one away before and the winner loved it. Some of the features include:

I wish to get a new perspective on the time I spend with family and friends. I always feel so badly that I have lost connection with old friends, and complain about not doing much with my extended family (brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. I know I have to learn that I have to make TIME and make some things happen. I am very envious of other people who have this and it occurred that it takes two to keep connected.

I’ll make the long story short–we are looking to “live smaller”–reusing, making at home, shopping in better ways, In keeping with that, we are looking for a small piece of land to live on. This is a completely new thing for me–I have lived in big cities all my life. I’d love to document the transition over the next couple of years. I think the early pictures might make great comedy 🙂

i would like to get more perspective on my health. I have a chronic illness and i really need to learn more about it and how to take better care of myself!
Eileen says
I just noticed your post Sheila. I hope you are well over the holidays. I also deal with chronic illness, for 12 years now. It’s often tough to get the right care when docs simply don’t always know enough or know what to do with you. Often you have to be the researcher, the advocate for yourself and find different ways to deal and sometimes heal. I am thinking of you and your struggles today. There are SO many of us out there . take care:)
Bella T. says
I’m hoping to get healthy and start living life to the fullest. I spent a lot of time feeling sorry for myself because I’m crippled and tight on money and can’t physically have a child and blah blah blah. It’s time to stop that. I have a wonderful fiance and a roof over my head. Everything’s fine as long as you keep optimistic. I can’t wait for the new year. 🙂
Eileen says
I do the same. And I have children to love and whom love me but can’t be in the “physical world” of parenting a lot of the time because of poor health. I have to remember what blessings i have and have other ways of offering parenting, friendship, being a good spouse. In most ways it really is about your attitude and being positive like you said. I hope things get a little easier for you and you can feel more secure and find laughter in the midst of some disappointment and sadness. I loved your last line…I have not been eager for the new year for over a dozen years. Thanks for helping me to remember this is a new chance to MAKE myself NEW!

I aim for a perspective of renewed self-worth; discernment on when to hold on and when to let go, when to love another and when to stop in order to love myself. When to be optimistic and when to be realistic. When to fight for something you think is worth dying for, and when to give up the fight so you will not lose yourself.
For 2013, I aim for the perspective that I can be a better me, and it can only start from loving myself.
