A New Perspective {Canon EOS Rebel Giveaway}

Dec 13, 2012 | Rita

Canon EOS Rebel

It takes so little to gain a new perspective on anything. As the new year is approaching rather quickly and we will all be working on those resolutions that don’t always work out for us I thought I would treat a lucky reader to a whole new perspective. The one that you get when you look through the lens of a camera. It takes one look through the lens of a camera to see the world in a whole new light.

You can all actually thank my brother for this giveaway. When he was here recently he showed me some pictures of his son he took one night. Reese was watching a video and my brother took a couple dozen photos. Each images showing the amazement and wonder on Reese’s face as he watched the video. Each one allowing me to experience the joy Reese felt just by looking at them. That is something that only happens when you look at a photograph. It captures brief moments in time that others get to share with us.

The camera 1 reader will win is the Canon EOS Rebel and I will tell you that it is a great camera. I have given one away before and the winner loved it. Some of the features include:

12.2-megapixel CMOS sensor

Creates an effect 1.6x field of view and captures high-resolution images with exceptional clarity and tonal range.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens

With aspherical lens element, circular aperture and optical image stabilizer for incredible picture detail. EF lens mount for use with Canon EF and EF-S interchangeable lenses.

2.7″ color TFT-LCD monitor

Live View function and 170° viewing angle for improved viewing. Eye-level penta-mirror viewfinder with adjustable diopter control.

Improved EOS HD Movie mode

With expanded recording [HD: 30p (29.97) / 25p], and with in-camera movie editing options.

High ISO sensitivity (100-6400)

For improved photo captures in low lighting conditions.

9-point autofocus

With auto and manual point selection. Modes include one-shot, AI servo and AI focus. Live mode reads the sharpness of a subject right from the imaging sensor for sharper, more detailed pictures.

63-zone TTL full-aperture metering exposure controls

With auto, manual, program, shutter- and aperture-priority, depth-of-field EA and E-TTL II auto flash modes.

Retractable, auto pop-up flash

With E-TTL II auto flash metering and flash-ready icon lights visible in the viewfinder.

DIGIC 4 image processor

For precise, natural color and accurate white balance in various lighting conditions. Sophisticated signal-processing algorithms for fast image capture and processing and low energy consumption.

Creative features

Include Basic+ function, Quick Setting function and Creative Auto.

New Feature Guide

Offers short descriptions of each function and Quick Control screen for easy operation.

Media slot

Supports Secure Digital and Secure Digital High Capacity media (media not included)

I have tried to keep the entering simple on this one and have added a new entry for our Facebook Fan of the week. Each week a fan is chosen randomly on Facebook and is the Facebook Fan of the Week. The entire time that the giveaway runs if you are selected as the Fan of the Week you can enter your Facebook name and the date you were chosen into the Rafflecopter form and get the extra entries.

I hope this helps someone have a wonderful start to the new year! ENDS: January 2, 2013

I wish to get a new perspective on the time I spend with family and friends. I always feel so badly that I have lost connection with old friends, and complain about not doing much with my extended family (brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. I know I have to learn that I have to make TIME and make some things happen. I am very envious of other people who have this and it occurred that it takes two to keep connected.

    thanks so much. wow. amazing!

I’ll make the long story short–we are looking to “live smaller”–reusing, making at home, shopping in better ways, In keeping with that, we are looking for a small piece of land to live on. This is a completely new thing for me–I have lived in big cities all my life. I’d love to document the transition over the next couple of years. I think the early pictures might make great comedy 🙂

    • Eileen says

      December 30, 2012 at 5:10 am

I just noticed your post Sheila. I hope you are well over the holidays. I also deal with chronic illness, for 12 years now. It’s often tough to get the right care when docs simply don’t always know enough or know what to do with you. Often you have to be the researcher, the advocate for yourself and find different ways to deal and sometimes heal. I am thinking of you and your struggles today. There are SO many of us out there . take care:)

I’m hoping to get healthy and start living life to the fullest. I spent a lot of time feeling sorry for myself because I’m crippled and tight on money and can’t physically have a child and blah blah blah. It’s time to stop that. I have a wonderful fiance and a roof over my head. Everything’s fine as long as you keep optimistic. I can’t wait for the new year. 🙂

    • Eileen says

      December 30, 2012 at 5:23 am

I do the same. And I have children to love and whom love me but can’t be in the “physical world” of parenting a lot of the time because of poor health. I have to remember what blessings i have and have other ways of offering parenting, friendship, being a good spouse. In most ways it really is about your attitude and being positive like you said. I hope things get a little easier for you and you can feel more secure and find laughter in the midst of some disappointment and sadness. I loved your last line…I have not been eager for the new year for over a dozen years. Thanks for helping me to remember this is a new chance to MAKE myself NEW!

I aim for a perspective of renewed self-worth; discernment on when to hold on and when to let go, when to love another and when to stop in order to love myself. When to be optimistic and when to be realistic. When to fight for something you think is worth dying for, and when to give up the fight so you will not lose yourself.

For 2013, I aim for the perspective that I can be a better me, and it can only start from loving myself.
