That’s correct A Week Away is coming to NetFlix this Friday March 26, 2021! Now if you haven’t heard about it yet….Where have you been? I’m just kidding! I actually just heard about it myself and I am thinking this is going to be a pretty good movie.
About A Week Away
Troubled teen Will Hawkins (Kevin Quinn) has a choice to make – go to juvenile detention or attend a Christian summer camp. While at camp, and with the help of his music, new friends and love interest (Bailee Madison), he learns the healing powers of kindness, forgiveness, and faith can be found in the most unlikely of places.
Sounds great right? I am a huge musical fan so I have high hopes for this one and will be watching it Friday night. I have it on my calendar and I promise you nothing is going to change my plans this week. This is Netflix’s first musical film of its kind and it only makes sense they head in that direction now. I mean most of their other original programs have been amazing.
I’m kidding again. The kids want to watch this as much as I do so we are planning a family movie night. We have a new projection screen for outside and if the weather holds (fingers crossed) that is where we will been enjoying A Week Away! Most of the kids in the cast (and I say kids but they are teens) I haven’t heard of but Victoria actually has seen a few. However, it does star David Koechner who I think is super funny. He is always a riot and I think it will bring a lot to this.
“Every once in awhile, somebody is just a week away from an experience that changed everything for them.”
David Koechner’s character says that in the trailer and I love it so much! I remember going to camp one summer when I was younger. While I admit that I didn’t have as much fun as my cousin who went with me I will never forget the experience. Although if it we broke out into song from time to time I probably would have loved it.
I would have! It would have been amazing. The kids haven’t been to camp and I have a feeling after watching this they will begin to beg me to go. We actually have on that is right down the road from us and surprisingly the one that I went to when I was young. Maybe I will check it out for them this year. Lets wait and see how many times we end up watching this. After all I know we will watch it at least twice. Well, I will. Once with the family and then once on my own so I can hear everything I missed when they were talking during the first viewing.
A WEEK AWAY is coming to Netflix this Friday, March 26th.
