I have been talking to myself, saying that I need to get up earlier so I can pray and spend a little more time with God. I know it is something that I need to work more on and I am trying. I am taking it one day at a time. The truth is many nights I fall into bed and then am so tired I need every second of sleep I get.
So the other day I said “If God wants me to spend more time with him he will have to make more hours in the day.” I went about my day and didn’t think much more about it. I went to bed with my alarm set for its usual time. Well for some reason an alarm we have on our temperature gauge that is in the living room went off an hour before my alarm. That alarm has never worked! Not since the day we got that dang thing, in fact the gauge doesn’t even read the temperature correctly. It will be 100 degrees outside and it will read 32.
As was walking in the living room to turn it off before it woke up the whole I thought “God is telling me to get up!” It was the first thing that came to mind. I did get back into the bed but I used the time that I was laying there to talk with God and just focus.
The other weird thing is not a single person in the house heard that alarm and it hasn’t went off since then. Of course I now get up an hour ahead of time!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

The first thing that came to my mind after reading this is “God does work in mysterious ways!” He definitely heard your request that day didn’t He? I too, should spend more time one on one with God each day, and agree that the mornings are best. I will try harder and once again, thank you for being such an inspiration!

I am glad that God lead me to write this blog. He does work in mysterious ways.

Too funny Robin without reading your comment I was just thinking the same thing God does work in mysterious ways. Check out Isaiah 55:9 from NIV
“As the heaven are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
It is great when you see God in moments like this.

It is and he has been much more present in the last few weeks.

thats great you have motivated yourself to have some time for reflection. I wish I had the motivation to do this myself. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night to reflect on things and i get overwhelmed and cant get back to sleep so maybe i can use that time to have a chit chat with God about his plan for me because truthfully my life has been a rollar coaster for so long.

I get up in the middle of the night sometimes too.

Truly sent from God, the only explanation there is, an alarm that never works starts to work one hour before you set your alarm to go off..truly blessed!

I would say it was a sign for sure! I really do believe that we are sent signs at times when we need them the most. It would kind of freak me out though that it has never worked and that no one else heard it. So you know it was meant just for you.

Very cool (and a little spooky). I guess you got your message. I need to get up an hour before the household does, just to organize my thoughts and get myself ready. If I did, mornings would be a lot less stressful but it is just soooo hard to get up.
