Since I tried the toast last week I thought I would share with y’all my favorite avocado smoothie recipe. When it comes to smoothies pretty much anything goes. So feel free to adjust things, add in new things, or whatever you like to make this recipe work for you.
Smoothies are one of those items I drink a lot when I am rushing, have an appointment, or just don’t feel like eating breakfast. I have to have something because of my diabetes but there are days when I just don’t want anything. Smoothies help with that.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water you could use coconut water if you would like
- 2 cups spinach
- 1/2 fruit avocado
- 1/2 tbsp flaxseed
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 oz walnuts or use whatever nuts you have on hand
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more water if necessary.
If you want to add a little sweetness to this I would suggest a little honey. It gives you the sweetness while still blending well with everything else. Of course you could throw in a banana if you wanted instead.
