I always wanted children. Motherhood was the one thing I figured I’d be good at. God has not blessed with children of my own yet but I do have two wonderful stepchildren.
I know what everyone is thinking! It’s the dreaded STEP-MOM!! I never wanted mine to feel that way. I wanted them to like me. I am fortunate enough that they love me. I also have a decent relationship with their mother, which helps.
The biggest challenge is they live six months a year with us and six months in Mexico with their mother. We homeschool to make things easier and sit down (by phone/email) at the beginning of each each school year to plan lessons.
I can honestly say that having these wonderful children in my life has been a true blessing. While I may not be “Mommy” as of yet I am “Mom” and that is just as beautiful to hear.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Wow! I can’t even imagine trying to make a situation like this work. It’s amazing and good for you that you can!
