I just learned this morning that a blogger who I knew was tragically murdered along with her 14 year old son. Bloggers tend to have a very tight knit community. I knew Chris K from Adventures of a Thrifty Mama and even though I never actually met her in person I genuinely liked her.
She answered questions whenever I had them and I enjoyed reading her blog. She was truly a wonderful person who will be missed. WILX10 in Michigan has posted this news article and video with more information about this tragic incident from Thursday, December 5th. She leaves behind 3 beautiful children who are now in need. Below is information on how you can donate to help these children during this very tragic time.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This is so sad. I will never understand how a person can do something like this to another person. Especially an innocent child. Thank you for passing on the address and information where to send items.

I read about this the other night, and it weighs heavily on my heart. I just shared your post, and I know we all share in our sorrow and prayers for the children who remain here on earth.
Somehow, I hope Chris and her son were not too scared – although I know that’s not likely.

I read about this situation – so awful. I can’t imagine what those poor children are going through. Thank you for sharing.

That is so tragic. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and fellow blogger. And it’s terrible to hear that she was a victim of domestic violence and ultimately was murdered by the person that she had filed a protective order against. I will keep her family and friends in my prayers.

Oh my gosh that is so very tragic. How can this happen in our country so often, that human life is so disregarded. I cant imagine those little kids without there family…so scared at such a time when life is supposed to be so full and happy. So sad.

This is truly a tragedy I had never visited her blog before but she sounds like a great person. I pray that God will give them the comfort in their time of need.

I’m from the Michigan/Ohio area so I was also saddened to read this. Seems I read about domestic violence everyday, here in LA. Thank you for the children’s info so we can help some.

I read about this yesterday and I was just sickened. I didn’t know her blog, but it was a blow to the stomach. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and son who have never raised their voices to me much less their fists or worse. I am an active supporter of our local domestic violence shelter and the thrift store that they run. My prayers are with everyone who knew them.

I read about this last week on facebook. I didn’t know her, but it is so horrible that this has happened to her and her children. I feel so sad for the children she left behind that will no longer have the mother or brother. My prayers are with her children. Thanks for posting about how to help..

So sorry to hear of this loss. I volunteer at a domestic shelter in Texas and I can say that the donations are not of real plentiful. I recall going to the shed to help a family get shoes and there were barely any options. Great donations are very much needed. If I see something I can purchase I will get it. Our budget is very tight, but I know how to find a good deal. Thanks for sharing the contact address.
