Book Review: Dead Man Walker

Book Disclosure
Duffy Brown has done it again! She has left me hanging and yelling out “I have to know what happened!” She did that to me once before with an almost kiss and I was on the edge of my seat until the next book came out. Sorry I am talking in circles let me back up a little bit. If you have been with me for a while then you know that Duffy Brown and her Consignment Shop Mysteries are one of my favorite mystery series ever! They centers around Reagan Summerside and her consignment shop, the Prissy Fox in Savannah, Georgia. The cast of characters are not only well written but like old friends that you can’t wait to catch up with.

It’s springtime in Savannah, the azaleas and magnolias are in bloom, and Reagan Summerside’s consignment shop, the Prissy Fox, is bustling with customers out to enjoy the beautiful weather. On a day like today, what could go wrong? As a mortician beautician and housekeeper, Mercedes is no stranger to corpses or messy bathrooms. But the last thing she expects to find in a client’s bathtub is a dead body! Now she’s a murder suspect and it seems like her life is going down the drain. She turns to local lawyer Walker Boone to get her out of hot water. But Walker has his own surprising connections to the dead man in the tub, and now he needs Reagan’s help to clear his own name—and keep him alive.

I have grown rather fond of Walker Boone and love that this particular book was a little more from his point of view. It is always nice to get a different perceptive. The image of him riding away on Reagan’s pink scooter wearing the helmet that smells like cotton candy on the inside actually made me laugh out loud. He is a very manly man (I won’t share the image I have of him in my head as we are keeping this rated G.) Dead Man Walker is a short read that REALLY leaves you wanting more. Oh and bravo Duffy on that kiss that Reagan gave Walker! I can’t wait to find out what happens when Demise in Denim comes out!

You can purchase Dead Man Walker on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Google Play among other places.

Demise

Dead Man Walker leads right into Demise in Denim with Walker Boone on the run and Reagan with a little help from Aunt Kiki trying to prove his innocence.

Wow, thanks so much for the great review on Dead Man Walker. That you had fun with Walker, Reagan and the Savannah gang really makes my day. Walker sure got himslef into a mess this time. I can just see him on that scooter and Reagan is loving riding around in Walker’s red ’57 Chevy!!

I have tons of fun with them and a mess is putting it lightly. The scooter was a great touch! it is so Reagan as much as the Chevy is Walker. I can’t wait to find out what happens.

It is very interesting! I would suggest starting with the first book in the series, Iced Chiffon.

This sounds like a very good book. I have read some of your other Duffy Brown reviews and they always sound so good. This is one author I am going to have to look for. It sounds like a story I would enjoy and then could pass it on to my mother. Thanks for the review.

I haven’t heard of this author or series! I am always on the hunt for new reading material. I will have to see if this is available on Kindle. I like light-hearted stories when I travel.
