Oh Duffy Brown I am so super upset with you, even if you did send me the book to review! I will get to all of that in a moment though, if you have been following me for a while you know that I reviewed Duffy’s other book Iced Chiffon which I loved! Now Killer in Crinolines is the second book the Consignment Shop Mysteries series. First let me lay out the plot for you then I will tell you why I am so upset!
About the Book:
Reagan Summerside finds the groom face-down in five-tiers of icing and fondant, a cake knife in his back and her BFF and local UPS driver accused of the murder. Can Reagan nail the real killer without winding up in the local swamp as alligator meat? Will the pain-in-the ass attorney and once-upon-a-time gang member, help her out or feed her to the alligators himself?
Facedown in five-tiers of icing and fondant a dead groom leads to wedding chaos for Reagan, her BFF and the hotshot attorney.
My Thoughts:
I am so in love with this series! Duffy Brown again does a wonderful job with all of the characters. I am upset about the last page. I stayed up til 2am to finish this because I was so engrossed and when I finished the last line my thoughts were “Come On!” I have been waiting for two books for something particular to happen, all the tension is there, and then to deprive me at the last moment is just wrong.
Reagan is tough and headstrong which I really love while Aunt Kiki is the much-needed comic relief of the duo. However Walker Boone is hotshot attorney who just makes the page sizzle and always seems to be there just when Reagan needs him the most even if he does get on her nerves. I love the groom dying int he wedding cake, it was perfect! So was meeting more of the people of Savannah because as a Southern girl myself I know just how crazy Southern women can be. I can’t wait for book three!

Hi, Rita!
So glad you enjoyed Killer in Crinolines. Hey, the end was fun. You gotta wait for a good romance to happen and Walker did take Reagan to the cleaners in the divorce so she’s a little hostile toward him. There’s more going on between them in Killer in Crinolines. You just never know with those two. 😉

I am just hoping to get a kiss between them in the next book. After all Walker does refer to Bruce Willis as “our dog” to Reagan. I twas GREAT and I can’t wait for book 3!!
