I don’t know about all of you but I love jewelry. I especially love when I can get a piece that speaks to me personally. That is just what I got when I got a beautiful necklace from Waxing Poetic. The piece is not only beautiful but the fact that it is part of my new mantra (remember the sneak peek from before) for my super secret project makes it perfect.
The necklace came in this box which in and of itself is well done. The little drawer pulls out and is very fancy. The box is nice enough that you could use it to keep several small pieces of jewelry in if you needed to. In fact I am saving it for when I go on vacation to put some pieces in and save room in my bag.
Then inside was little little bag with the necklace tucked safely inside. Again it is well done and I love that little extra touch. It is also something I am saving to use again when I travel. I think having packaging that can be reused is awesome!
So just what necklace did I get? I received the Camp Clover Necklace on a 16″ baby ball chain. It was simply stunning as I pulled it out of the bag. While it is a simple design I will say that I love it. There is something about it that speaks to me and since I am now reminding myself of how lucky I am every single day this piece could not be more perfect.
As you can see up close there is a four leaf clover on the charm. While it doesn’t look it in the close up the clover is actually silver while the wax seal it is on is gold. The chain is also silver and super shiny. It has an very artisan feel and look to it which I think is what drew me in.
It has become my everyday wear piece since it goes with pretty much everything. One thing I do have to do is hide it from Maggie because she loves it. She wants to wear it all the time and I am afraid that she will break it. Did you catch above where I said the wax seal? Look again at the “disc” the clover is on. It is in fact a wax seal that has been cast. In fact the founder of Waxing Poetic summed up the meaning behind the wax seal perfectly:
At the time I cast the first wax seal back in 2001, the feeling that it evoked seemed to symbolize a somewhat forgotten and much needed form of communication. It was a time-honored, sacred and personal way to mark something – a way to bridge the gap between the old and new; between moments and milestones; between people; between meaning and adornment. Something lasting, something true, not a fad or trend.
Nothing could have more meaning or be more beautiful than a piece that symbolizes the connection multiple generations of people before had to one another through a simple wax seal. It is something that we take for granted in our technology driven world. Writing letters has become a thing of the past for most of us. Most have never experienced knowing who a letter is from just by looking at the seal on the back of it.
