Have you heard about MOM the new CBS Television Network show that is premiering on Monday September 23rd at 9:30 ET/8:30 CT? It is a comedy from executive producer Chuck Lorre starring Anna Faris as a newly sober single mom raising two children in a world full of temptations and pitfalls, and multiple Emmy Award winner Allison Janney as her critical, estranged mother.
Christy is a waitress at a posh Napa Valley establishment who is four months clean and doing her best to be a good mom and overcome a history of questionable choices. Her sobriety is tested when her recovering alcoholic mom Bonnie reappears,chock-full of passive-aggressive insights into Christy’s many mistakes. Bonnie joins Christy’s already complicated circle of relationships: her handsome, married boss – and lover – Gabriel; the restaurant’s hot-tempered chef, Rudy; her pretty, 16-going-on-25-year-old daughter, Violet; her sweet but overly honest son, Roscoe; her irresponsible ex and Roscoe’s father, Baxter; and Violet’s clueless boyfriend, Luke. Christy tries to remain positive as she pursues her new path in life, but she faces an uphill battle, surrounded by a dubious support system – and a copious amount of dysfunction.
In honor of this new show I have a MOM confession to make! I mean lets all be honest, we all have some things we have done as mothers that we are not proud of but we did it anyway. I am a stickler about not wanting the kids to eat too many sweets and ice cream especially when it is close to dinner. That being said there have been those occasions when they were younger and I really wanted to have an ice cream. SO what is a gal to do? I mean it’s not like I could just get one and eat it in front of them. That would be cruel.
So I did the only thing any self respecting woman could do. I got the ice cream , put it under my shirt, and told them I needed to go potty. I would go in the bathroom, lock the door, and enjoy the couple of minutes of creamy bliss all by myself! I am not proud of the fact that I had to resort to sitting on the toilet to enjoy a little ice cream (and trust me this would only work with ice cream on a stick. I mean a bowl would have been obvious!) but it is something that was just necessary at the moment. They were none the wiser. Of course this was only when they were small and before they learned to one look under the door to see what I was doing and two that you could put a screwdriver in the door and unlock it.

What is Your MOM confession?
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Ha! Love the idea of bathroom ice cream break. Some days you just need it.
Betty Baez says
Lol! I think we’ve all snuck a treat from the kids. I know I have! This show looks like it will be funny i like ana farris.
Karen Glatt says
I will have to take a look and see what the new sitcom is all about. I hope that it is good because I usually do not watch sitcoms because they are not my type of shows.
Tammy S says
LOL that has got to be the best ice cream story ever! I think we have all had to sneak a treat a time or two. I know my mom used to hide her Snickers bars in a Kotex box in her bathroom. It worked well until us girls started getting older.
I can’t wait to see this show. I love Anna Faris. She is a very funny actress.
