This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and State Farm. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
I shared with you recently the Celebrate My Drive campaign from State Farm and Teen driving safety. The campaign is giving high school in the Untied States the chance to win a $100,000 grant check as well as a concert featuring Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson. I know, that sounds awesome doesn’t it? Well there will be 100 grants awarded and two concerts which makes it even better.
Auto crashes are the leading killer of teens and the first year of driving is the most dangerous. I can speak form experience and say I had a cousin that was killed in a car crash in his teens. It was a devastating experience and a death that still affects my aunt to this day (it was more than 20 years ago) as he was her baby. I also can remember having friends killed when I was in high school. Those events stay with you both as a teen and as an adult.
That is why during the week of October 18-26 I encourage you to make a safe driving commitment on behalf of your high school. The more commitments that get made the higher your school’s chances of winning not only a grant but a concert with Kelly Clarkson will be. So get out here and start making those commitments. Also there will be student-focused events hosted by State Farm agents.
Make Your Commitment
How do your make your commitment? First visit here to see if your school is registered. If it is not then register your school (it is simple to do) by having an administrator for your school register. If they have not already registered you can send them an email reminder to register for the Celebrate My Drive campaign. Also you can visit Celebrate My Drive on Facebook . for more information on Teen Driving then check out the State Farm site.

Our community lost some amazing kids in car accidents and one of them touched our family very personally. Your life is never the same again. It’s because of this that I feel a very strong affinity with programs such as this.

Our local high school is not registered. I will have to contact the principal there and get the info to be submitted or have him do it. I am a parent of a graduate of this high school (as well as I graduated from there). This is a really nice giveaway and I would give it to my son. He’s a senior in college and could always use gas money. His school is a couple hours away and he comes home every couple weeks.
Jimmy Arcade says
My school was not registered. I did not call the administrator to request it. Knowing what I know of my school, I don’t know if it would happen, since there is a lot of red tape.
