Christmas at our house is crazy and full of traditions that blend who we are wonderfully. I spend a lot of time preparing for this particular holiday. In fact I just spent hours at JCPenney the other day hunting for a few gifts. What I found was this amazing purse that I want for myself but in the spirit of the season I didn’t get it.
We actually have a huge holiday get together a couple of weeks before Christmas with my family and then send gifts to Mexico for the in-laws. One tradition that we have is we open 1 gift before Mass every Christmas Eve. Then after that everyone has to wait til Christmas Day for the rest. We also take part in Las Pasados which has brought us closer together. Ours is a little different in that each year we decide a relatives home to drive to and on December 16th we drive (sometimes for 4 hours) and then have a wonderful time.
If it wasn’t for JCPenney I would go crazy! They have gifts for everyone on my list and this past weekend when I realized I needed more towels and blankets because our 25 guests turned into 45 I knew I could count on JCPenney to get what I needed quickly. I can also fill our tree with presents (Santa don’t wrap gifts from him! Lazy thing!!) which means squeals of joy from those receiving them.
JCPenney has chosen real choir singer, boys and girls, to be part of the JCPenney choir to tell the stories of their multicultural families and how they experience holidays in the US. Using the voice of real people and families they wanted to share the spirit of Christmas. That is, the very real spirit that lives in Latino homes in the U.S in a celebration of real-life Holiday traditions. I am so pleased to tell you that JCPenney is the first retail brand to celebrate what a REAL Christmas is like for Latinos through stories told by Latino children and their families in a series of short videos.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
