This something grownups and children alike love. It is fried and you can dip them in all sorts of things. I shared these Churros back in 2014 and thought it was time to bring them back.
Churros are a perfect, fast, and easy dessert for your next Mexican fiesta! They come together in about 20 minutes, and fry up just as fast. Even if you never bake, and hardly cook, you will be able to master these easy little fried dough strings without issue.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. Butter
- 1 cup of flour sifted at least 2 times. (140 grams)
- 1 large egg beaten
- 2½ cups vegetable oil for frying the churros
- Sugar to dust
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon Optional
Combine your sugar, butter, water, and salt in a sauce pan. Heat the mixture to boiling, then reduce the heat and stir in your flour. Stir it well over low heat to dry out the dough a bit, and then remove from the heat and let the dough cool for 10-15 minutes. You can do this next part by hand, I just prefer to use my mixer. Either way. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well between each addition.
Place the dough into a large piping bag (or a large ziplock!) fitted with a large star tip. Heat your oil to 350 degrees, and snip off 3-4 inch sections of dough from the pastry bag into the oil. Fry, turning and getting them evenly browned, for about 2 minutes.
Remove from the oil and toss in cinnamon sugar. Enjoy alone, or with your favorite chocolate sauce.

I would probably like these plain or with powdered sugar. They look good and I wouldnt mind giving them a go. My only drawbackk is using that much oil at once. Maybe of I combine it with something else fried or use a low pan.
