If you are cleaning around your home then you should not forget to take care of your memory foam mattress topper. A mattress topper can be an excellent addition to a bed; it can make a mattress firmer, more comfortable or more supporting. There are also many different types of mattress topper for different circumstances as you can see at Sleep Judge. No matter what type of mattress topper you have, if it becomes dirty, you may find that it becomes less comfortable and enjoyable to sleep on.
If you want to maintain the comfort of your memory foam mattress topper you need to make sure it is kept clean and in good condition. The question is, how do you do this? After all, you need to remember that memory foam absorbs water, so you need to be careful when you are cleaning it.
Where to clean your memory foam mattress topper
The first thing you need to do, in order to clean the mattress topper, is to remove it from the bed. Then you need to find a place where you can clean it. You should choose and area which has a hard floor and has a window, with good ventilation. You may want to place something on the floor to protect it.
Vacuuming the mattress topper
Before you apply any moisture to the memory foam mattress topper you should remove any dirt or debris from the surface by hoovering. It’s important to make sure you cover the whole of the surface area of the mattress topper, including any crevices.
Carrying out a spot clean
If there are any stains on the Mattress topper you should carry out a spot clean. You should use a little mild laundry detergent on a clean cotton cloth. All you need to do is dab away at the stain very gently.
Do not soak the mattress
It’s very important to remember not to soak a memory foam mattress; you should use a spray to complete the cleaning process. Using the same mild laundry detergent you used for the spot clean you just need to create a solution that is one part detergent to two parts water. You should then spray the entire surface of the mattress, being careful not to soak it. Once the entire mattress is covered it the needs to be left to sit for a few hours.
Removing the detergent
After a few hours have passed you will need to remove the detergent from the mattress. To do this you need to use a cotton cloth that is clean and damp. You just press around the mattress, removing the detergent and rinsing the cloth as necessary.
Once you have cleaned one side of the mattress topper you need to repeat the process for the other side. After you cleaned both side of the mattress topper you need to leave it to dry in a well ventilated room that has windows. Drying normally takes twenty-four hours, after which the memory foam mattress topper is ready to be used again.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This is interesting. I have wondered how people clean these toppers. I didnt think dry cleaners took them nor figured you could get them totally wet.
