The Australian craze for coffee is just like any other place in the world. Statistics say that in the year 2021 alone, each person has consumed around two kg of coffee. The revenue from coffee in the Australian market every year is 5.9 bn USD. When it comes to the number of coffee subscriptions in Australia, this number is well justified.

Speaking of the different varieties of coffee available in Australia, their range varies at different levels. They range from the different types of coffee beans to the varieties of coffee made out of them. This article will give a brief idea of the types of coffees available in the Australian market. As one of the largest consumers of coffee, it is significant to know about the places, coffee varieties and preferences.

Types of Coffee Beans

The primary coffee beans available in Australia include the Excelsa, Liberica, Arabica and the Robusta. The taste and power of each bean vary greatly. Read on to find out how.

  • Robusta Bean

It is a strong bean with high levels of caffeine to give flavour to the coffee. However, it has a rubbery and burnt taste which makes it less popular among coffee lovers. However, for those who have a preference for strong caffeine flavour, the robusta coffee bean is a must-try.

  • Liberica Bean

It is the rarest bean in the whole world as they grow only in specific climates. As a result, the production of Liberica is very scarce. However, this coffee has a very fruity and woody taste when it comes to flavour and aroma.

  • Arabica Bean

It is the most common bean available in the whole world. The coffee made from arabica beans has a very delicate and sweeter flavour. They are also less acidic than other popular coffee beans. Coffee arabica is preferred by most of the population, with the most number of coffee subscriptions in Australia for this type.

  • Excelsa beans

This bean belongs to the Liberica family, and it has a fruity tart flavour. It has all the attributes of a dart roast and a light roast coffee which makes it unique. All of these factors make the Excelsa coffee beans a highly sorted one in Australia.
