No Cottonelle, Are You Kidding Me?

Sep 23, 2013 | Rita

Disclosure: I am bringing this post to you through my partnership with Cottonelle, their new Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths, and sharing the news about their #LetsTalkBums campaign.

Cottonelle

Talk about my worst fear! I have two and they both involve toilet paper! Recently I was at the store, I live in a small town and only needed milk so I went to the local one, when I get a call from my mother saying we are out of toilet paper. My first thought was OMG!! How in the world had I even let us run low, I use a pack of toilet paper a day all by myself so it is something we do not ever run low on. So I headed over to the Bathroom Aisle only to discover that the IGA didn’t carry Cottonelle.

“No Cottonelle, Are You Kidding Me?”  are the exact words that came out of my mouth! How in the world can a store not carry a major brand? I mean what is this the nineteen thirties? Talk about suddenly being plunged into the dark ages. The nice (I use nice very loosely) told me that while they occasionally have it they don’t really have a call for it very often and could order me some but it would take a week or so to get it. However I was more than welcome to try out the store brand  which she uses and loves.

NOT! There is no way I putting some 1-ply toilet paper anywhere near my bottom, it just is not happening! So I put back the milk and other items and got in the car heading into town. A major store is about 45 minutes away but this was an emergency and I knew I needed to hurry and get back home. I was about halfway out-of-town when I got pulled over and had to explain that it truly was an emergency because I was out of toilet paper and I had to have Cottonelle. I am pretty sure the chick as the IGA called in on me, she just gave me the “I hate customers like you” look but the police officer felt sorry enough for my poor bum to just give me a warning.

As he turned to walk away he look back and told me “Why don’t you just pick up the store brand at the IGA? It’s not that bad.” The response I wanted to give would not have been very polite so I just smiled and told him to pick up some Cottonelle and Fresh Care Wipes the next time he goes into town. Then let me know the next time he sees me how the store brand compares. I saw him this morning as I was heading into the Post Office. He said “Hey Cottonelle lady! I totally get it now!!”

I liked this story, it is so true. If you have a brand of toilet paper that you like and you do not want any other brand then I would drive miles to get it. Who needs cheap and scratchy toilet paper. Cottenelle is my favorite.

Too funny! Toilet paper is serious business at our house. My hubby and I cannot agree so we each have our own brand and supply. I do use Cottonelle but he uses Scott for reasons that escape me. Great story!

Too funny I hate to run low on toilet paper so I always try to stock up. I can’t imagine a store not having Cottonelle.

OMG this is the best story ever!! I love it! I know how you are about having enough TP in the house and how you use it to wipe down things in the bathroom. I love that you actually told him it was an emergency. Next time I get pulled over, I am totally pulling out the Cottonelle Card! LOL
