How many of you use a salad spinner? We used to use one when I was younger but for some reason instilled as I got older. I’m not sure why but I can tell you that washing salad without one is for the birds. When Crave Tools asked to check out their salad spinner i didn’t think much of it. I thought this is going to be a useless gadget that I will end up giving away.

Crave Tools began in 2013 with the goal of creating barbecue and cooking tools that were not only superior but also backed by the best customer service possible. That is a huge goal to set for a new company. One that many who have been in business for decades fail miserably at. In fact many of the creators family and friends said it couldn’t be done. That the grilling industry was dominated by only a few major brands. Well guess what? I n my opinion they have accomplish those goals beautifully.
The salad spinner is the size of large mixing bowl which means you can get a lot in there. In fact, I got a whole head of romaine lettuce in mine. Cut up of course. There is much to the spinner itself. I also want to say that I have used this to clean cabbage as well as a bowl of grapes recently. It made washing the grapes as soon as I bought them easier. I like to wash them and then bag them up for the kids to have easy to grab snacks during the day.
The lid which has the knob for spinning in top of it. There isn’t anything fancy about it. The blue pieces off set the white in my opinion. Also the lid is vented which makes rinsing it so much easier. There is no water hung up underneath the lid. I had something where that happened all the time. There was always water under there and I ended up throwing it out because it drove me crazy.
The strainer which is where you put the lettuce or fruits of you want. It then goes inside the larger bowl and you are set. When you are done you pull of the lid and then take the strainer out. It will hold 3 quarts of veggies which is perfect for our large size family. I use the bowl and the strainer for other things too. With the salad after I pull out the strainer I run the bowl under the water, wipe it out, put the salad back in and use it as a serving bowl. Fewer dishes that way!
Your lettuce or whatever you put inside is fresh and clean. It is much safer than using any chemicals to clean your fruits and veggies. It is also much faster than doing it by hand. Another great thing is this salad spinner is dishwasher safe. That means you can toss it straight into the dishwasher and not have to hand wash it. I will say that the twins love to spin whatever is in here and allow them to do that. It is one way they can help in the kitchen without getting hurt.
