The first subscription box that I’m checking out this year is one that I have reviewed in the past. Culture Carton is a subscription box for men that gives them four to five products every month.
There are three different subscription choices to choose from when subscribing to Culture Carton.
Standard
- 3-5 of the best lifestyle items
- 1 book every man should read
- Delivered monthly
- Typical value $90-130+
Essential
- 3-5 of the best lifestyle items
- No book, just products
- Delivered monthly
- Typical value $70-120+
Book Club
- One handpicked book
- Modern and Classic fiction
- Delivered monthly
- Build your library!
So as you can see you can select which subscription is best for you and your budget. If you have a birthday or even Valentine’s Day that is coming up this would be a great gift.
Shipping & Info
As far as I could find Culture Carton ships to the US. Orders placed up until the 16TH of the month will be shipped on the 18th. After the 18th orders ship the next month. They also have a store where you can shop past boxes.
Standard Box
We received a Standard Box so you can see all of the items in one. There were six items in our box with a total value of $114. It does come in a plain cardboard box but since this is a man’s box I don’t think they will care at all. The box is packed well.

Chicago by David Mamet $18
I have never heard of this book but it does look interesting. Every book that is selected for the box is one that men would be interested in. This is a crime drama that explores the mob of Chicago and was written by an Oscar-nominated author.
Wolf Project Face Masks $25
My uncle said he didn’t think he would be able to use these masks because he has a full beard. My brother however said they were right up his alley. They are bamboo charcoal sheet that is ready for immediate use.
An Ivy Tie $25
Every man needs at least one tie in his wardrobe. Even those who don’t wear one normally. This one is a great color and pattern to keep if you are looking for one.
Although in my opinion I think a man needs two. One in a pattern like this one and a plain black one (maybe a black and grey stripe) for funerals. This one has nice colors and feels so great to the touch.
I will tell y’all that it took me like three times to get this thing tied. I kept trying to do it in the mirror and I don’t know what happened but it just wouldn’t work. When I sat down on the bed and closed my eyes, I got it the first time!
Alara Pocket Square $18
My grandfather always wore pockets squares to church on Sunday. That is why I know what they are. I like this one from Alara. It is just the right size and thickness.
It is certainly the one that my uncle will be keeping just in case. I’m gonna get him into a suit sometime. I am determined!
Weekend Casual Lapel Pin $16
This lapel pin is certainly the one I would have selected for my uncle if I was out buying one for him.
As you can see it looks really well against the tie. The stag just has an air of sophistication about him that I like.
Unsimply Stitched Socks $12
Okay, my mother took these socks the moment she saw them. She doesn’t care they are men’s or they are dress socks. Girl is wearing them around the house with her slippers. Sorry guys!
These are so well made and they are warm according to Ma. Honestly, I had planned to give them to my brother because they would go well with his church clothes. What can you do? She wanted them and she got them.
How Does It Compare?
Is Culture Carton Worth the Price?
In my opinion yes it is worth it. You get high quality items, not samples of something or a bunch of advertisements. Every item in the box is a full size, full book item. I like that as you will see with some other boxes throughout the year small samples sizes only work for me when they are inline with the price of the box.
Website vs Real Life
So how well does Culture Carton stand up to it’s website? Pretty well actually. The Standard Box we received it exactly what their website pictures one to be. There isn’t a box full of stuff that they don’t really explain isn’t like what you will receive. I would certainly say that what you see is what you get with them.
Overall Rating
Overall I would say that Culture Carton gets 5 out of 5 stars. They check off every box for me. I would have taken off a half star for the packaging being plain but this is a subscription box for me who, as I said, may not care so I took that into consideration.
Culture Carton is a subscription box that many men in your life will enjoy. I know some of you are thinking it isn’t for your man. You could be right, it is not going to be for every guy. I would suggest you give it a try though because he may enjoy many of the items if not all.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CULTURE CARTON? ANY MEN IN YOUR LIFE THAT WOULD ENJOY IT? ANY PRODUCTS YOU FOUND INTERESTING? LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.

Thanks for this review and introduction to me of this subscription. This box wouldn’t be used much by the men in my life however I’m sure there are boxes that would be and even though this box may not be used often by the men in my life, these items would be used from time to time so it definitely isn’t a waste. Thanks again for a great review.

You are so welcome. For the men in life this box is perfect for one brother who regularly wears ties and is very metro. So I know what you mean. Stay tuned for all of the other box reviews that we do this year and you may find one or two that you will love.
