We spend a lot of time outdoors and living in the south that means bugs and other insects. One thing my uncle does a lot is wear longer sleeves but recently we discovered shirts with Insect Shield® Repellent Technology over at North Fork Gear. I will say I didn’t think much about the shirts he wears until now.
The Darian Shirt with Insect Shield® Repellent Technology that lasts through 70 launderings keeps the bugs away while he outside. Doesn’t that sound amazing? No more spraying him down with all of the bug repellent which he hates because it makes it skin burn. He has psoriasis so anything sprayed on tends make it burn and we have been looking for an alternative for a while. As you can see he looks great in the shirt and he wears an XLarge. It is available in XS all the way up to 3XL. It does only come in the one color.
He is outside a lot and this shirt will protect him against bugs, like mosquitos and ticks not to mention the diseases they carry, including the Zika and West Nile Viruses, Lyme Disease and Dengue Fever. If that wasn’t enough it also has 50+ UPF sun protection, is made of A moisture-wicking 100% DrýTru Polyester, doesn’t wrinkle, and is easy to care for. That makes this particular shirt great for hiking and even for hunting. Which my older brother does so he will be getting one of these for Christmas. The amount of bugs we encounter while hiking through the woods is crazy and during the summer they are even worse.
Now I know that many wonder about the smell because lets face it any repellents smell so bad. This shirt though has an anti-microbial odor control which reduces scent. It doesn’t smell bad at all, at least not to us. I say that because I know that some people have super sensitive noses and will pick up on the slightest scent. The scent on this is not strong in any way. That is important because I would have been so irritated if they made my other laundry smell.
All in all the Darian shirt from North Fork Gear was a great shirt! My uncle said that it wore well and washing it was not a problem. I do wish the repellent lasted longer than 70 laundering but that is honestly how long your shirts re suppose to last. Although, lets face it we all know that men wear shirts until they fall apart. My uncle said this was his favorite shirt of the two we received. It likes the Mossy Oak color that it comes in.
