I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

The weather plays a much more important role than people realize- when the barometric pressure changes drastically it will affect people. The amount of daylight (sunshine) you are exposed to might play a role- if it does there are special lights to help with it.

Thanks Ellen. I didn’t know that. my office is actually set up near the front door so I can open it and look out and see everything that is going on. If it was anywhere else in the house it would be too dark and drive nuts.

Thank you for sharing this with your readers! I too have depression when the weather changes! Right not it has gotten colder, and it is snowing! I really do miss the sunshine! I am going to uptake my Vitamin D pills, because it is so important to have enough of this vitamin in my system! I will pray for you, and I love receiving your email with the extra coded entry!

My dad struggles with depression, and I’ve seen the toll it can take on a person. Just remember on your bad days, it gets better.

Small things help when I get like that (and I suspect we all do at one time or another) …music helps a lot and so does a favorite home scent (I like Mediterranean fig) …they sort of work to lift my mood when I’m not looking. 🙂

Wow Ellen does bring up very good points I suffer with mild depression too and I do notice that sometimes it has to do with the weather, hope you’re feeling better today!

It is interesting that you find a connection between your bouts of depression and the change in weather. I experience the same thing, but when I mention it to doctors–or most anyone else!–they seem to think I’m imagining it. I do the same sort of thing when I have a bad time–just sort of “go down” (that’s what I call it) and do basic tasks.

Sometimes it’s the basic tasks that get me through the day.
