Do you dream of making changes that will last you well into the next few years and beyond? Or perhaps you are guilty of following the latest lifestyle craze for a few months, and soon slip back into to your old ways? Maybe, you feel that you overthink things or find it all too easy to come up with excuses to begin your diet tomorrow? Whatever your reasons, it can be all too straightforward to let any good intentions slip by the wayside. However, what if you could make just a few small changes that will work miracles on your diet and lifestyle? Keep these hacks well in sight and your eyes on your end goal.
Get up and active
Is it too cold for you to go for a run? Do you feel too tired to go to the gym today? Stop making excuses and get up and active! Remember exercise produces endorphins, or happy hormones, making you feel happier and healthier too. Plus, the benefits of exercising are endless, not only does it help with your overall heart health, but it is ideal if you want to tone up and even meet new friends with similar interests. Plus, you don’t just have to stay in the gym either. From acro-yoga to swimming or cycling, there is something out there for you – no matter your shape or size.
Sleep more
Sleep is beneficial for your entire body. From helping with weight loss to boosting cell rejuvenation that will help you look and feel younger and more refreshed, you should try to get at least eight hours of quality shut-eye per night. Start by trying to incorporate a meditation or a few simple stretches to help you slow down and unwind before you go to the bedroom. Next, remove any electronic devices from your room, such as cell phones or televisions, and keep your boudoir just for sleeping. Finally, review your caffeine intake. Drinking too much coffee or tea throughout the day could be keeping you up into the small hours.
Stop Unhealthy habits
Drinking during the week, enjoying a take out and can of soda and smoking are all unhealthy habits that could be affecting your overall health without you even realizing. Why not try to work out which stress factors are making you feel drawn to an extra cigarette or glass of wine when you could use an e-cigarette or drink a glass of water instead. Alcohol can cause weight gain, and it could even be affecting your sleep patterns. Vaping is an alternative to tobacco, and you can buy your vape juice online from sites such as Mt Baker Vape. Try and make changes gradual – you will feel a lot better in even less time than you might believe.
Remember, that any changes take time and effort, but these hacks are designed to help you set and stick to your aims. Get up and out there, make sure to rest up and get rid of those unhealthy habits for good!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

My biggest hold back is the making excuses.

I wish I could sleep 8 hours. I usually get about 4 hours a night. I plan on starting a fitness program to see if it will improve my sleep.

Doing it gradually with smaller, attainable goals is the only way. I stopped having any beer during the weekdays as it was causing such excessive calories. Now I sleep better, too.

Thanks so much for the tips and pointers. I make and set goals on paper to keep a nice exercise program in order to lose some weight so I am able to reference where I am at at all times. I try to stick to it the best I can by viewing the reality.

I really try not to drink soda anymore. It’s so sugary and unhealthy. I might have it about once a week now, and sometimes not even that.

Lately I haven’t been good AT ALL about consistently getting enough sleep & maintaining good sleep habits. I’ll really have to take this to heart – thanks!
