A few days ago I had a sudden urge to buy something. An item that I not only don’t need but can’t see myself needing it anytime soon (no it isn’t anything dirty…. Get your minds out of the gutter.) The urge to make this particular purchase was so great that I actually told my mother. Now usually she is the voice of reason about things like this. She will say things like “why would you need that?” or my all time favorite ” if you get it we can save it and give it to one of the other kids.” That last statement typically keeps me from buying anything because I spent a lifetime having I give things to my sister or the other kids and well it is a source of bitterness. She knows it too.
Yet she didn’t say any of that. Her response was “we will have to get a small one because we don’t have a lot of room but they make mini sort of ones.” I almost fell out of my chair. Then she went online with me to look at them. I couldn’t believe that I bought that and that it actually is in the house. There has to be something wrong with me! Why in the world would I spend that much money ($310) on something that I will never use. I am usually the most practical shopper in the world but this urge was one that I just couldn’t beat. I am not going to say what it is because I am a bit embarrassed that I actually ordered this. My only hope is that God knows what he is doing. That maybe he has a reason for this purchase.
Have you ever purchased something so ridiculous that you didn’t know why?
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Now I am really intrigued as to what it was that you bought.Honestly some things you just want them, there’s no rhyme or reason to it at all.

There is no need for this at least not anymore. So I am not sure what I am going to do with it. It is still sitting in the box waiting to be put together.

I think that we have all been there a time or two. I know that I have done it. It was something that was out of this world crazy to buy. My husband was so surprised. I felt so silly. But I didn’t return it. 🙂
Rita says
I don’t know I am still thinking about returning this.

So are you going to keep us in suspense, what did you buy? At the moment I can’t think of a purchase like that but I’m sure I have many usually with a smaller price tag.
Rita says
I am too embarrassed to share what it is. Maybe one day if I actually need it I will tell everyone. I never spend that kind of money on something that I don’t actually need.

No, I was hoping that you would of shared, now I’m really thinking of what could it be..oh the suspense is gnawing at me..lol
Rita says
Sorry! Maybe I will share it eventually. Who knows!

Well now we have to know what it is! My husband has a philosophy of “sleeping on it” before he buys anything of significance. Often, by the time the next day rolls around, he decides he doesn’t need it.
Rita says
That’s me. If is online I save it to a folder and if I don’t come back to it in a month I don’t need it.
