Doug’s Nuts

Apr 10, 2018 | Rita

We are huge nut fans here! I know that sounds crazy but if we have nuts to snack on we are happy. They are one of those snacks that I happily give the kids (not Sam though cause he still has some trouble eating them.) So when Doug’s Nuts asked if I wanted to try out some of their nuts I jumped at the chance.  Doug’s nuts is part of the rokz family of brands.

They are a favorite at bars (so you may have had them without knowing) and at home for their inventive snacks and delicious brands. You can find the rokz line at select department stores such as Nordstrom and retail stores such as Whole Foods. Doug’s Nuts are priced at $5.49 which is a great price point if you ask me.

The Doug’s Nuts Original Blend is my favorite. The perfect blend of almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts roasted and coated in a salty-sweet glaze of organic sugarcane, blackberry honey, vanilla, sea salt, and oatmeal stout. Doesn’t all that sound wonderful? I could snack on these all day but sadly I let the kids try them. That was all she wrote cause they devoured my bag. I can easily see these nuts becoming part of our camping snacks or maybe even for the guys when they are out jeeping.

Now the Doug’s Nuts Coconut Beach Crunch were a treat! They are a a blend of beer-glazed salty almonds, toasted coconut chips and dark chocolate. I love they are called Coconut Beach Crunch too because that is what they remind me of. Those days at the beach when you don’t pay any attention to what you are snacking on. You can almost hear the ocean if you put the bag to your ear.

Finally there was the Doug’s Nuts Habanero Honey  that I left for the family to try.  The only reason is I have acid reflux and lets face it spicy and that do not mix. This has almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, Spanish peanuts, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts gently sweetened with tangy blackberry honey, organic sugarcane and a gluten-free pale ale topped off with habanero, chipotle and cinnamon. I will tell you that I could feel the heat when I opened the bag for the kids. They LOVED them! Nothing fazes them and the fact that their little tongues were tingling a little was the best part of eating them.
