Dr. Cocoa™ for Children: Cough Syrup They Will Actually Take

Dec 09, 2014 | Rita

Cold season is upon us and if you are like me getting your children to take a liquid cold and cough medicine is like trying to watch water boil without turning on the stove. It just ain’t going to happen! That is why I was thrilled to have them try out Dr. Cocoa™ for Children, which is the first-ever cough and cold medicine for children with 10% real cocoa, this season.

After all school age children get eight to twelve colds per year and I don’t know about your children but by the time the cold is finally over I am just as miserable as they are. They are not easy to deal with when they don’t feel well. Getting the medicine into them is important and I am a wee bit ashamed to admit that I have used my mother’s method in the past out of desperation. You know the hold them down, pour it in and pinch their nose til they swallow method.

Dr. Cocoa™ for Children (ages 4-13) is available in three patented formulas: Dr. Cocoa™ Long-Acting Cough Relief which relieves coughs for up to eight hours but doesn’t cause drowsiness. Dr. Cocoa™ Daytime Cough + Cold Relief which relieves stuffy nose and cough. Dr. Cocoa™ Nighttime Cough + Cold Relief which is especially for children ages 6-13 to relieve coughs, stuffy nose, runny nose and sneezing at night. Of course as with all medications be sure to follow the package label for exact dose by age, or speak to your child’s pediatrician.

So how does this all taste? Well I actually took a little taste to find out and I am here to tell you that it tastes just like chocolate. In fact I have made a point of putting these on the highest shelf possible because I don’t want them to think it is anything but medicine. We had a incident once with a flavored anti-dirrahea medicine where my niece drank half the bottle because it tasted good.
