Hands up for all those out there who love to travel! I love to travel as well and have the dream of traveling the world. I have been to plenty of places but I am a wanderer at heart. Of course being a grown up with lots of responsibilities puts all of that into perspective.
In my perfect, dream world I would have a refurbished, chic RV or bus and travel all over the place. Be a nomad, spend a few days or weeks in one place before heading off to the next. The whole family would be able to see the whole country. All of the wonders that make our country so beautiful and great.
We would travel here and there. Seeing the sites and enjoying ourselves. The reality is that seven people all crammed into an RV or bus would be the perfect recipe for a homicide. Maybe a mental breakdown or two. Can’t you just see me? I’m sure there are plenty of things that would drive us all a little crazy.
The kids would be screaming all the time and the senior citizens would be arguing about which way I should be going. I would be attempting referee them all and making no sort of head way. I just think it would work in reality. Although I do admire those who do make it work. Although I am tempted to buy one just so we can become weekend warriors traveling around. That would be a great start. I could ease them all into it. Stick with the nearby locations at first and entice them to spread their wings out and venture further.
My brother would head out with me in a minute. Like me though he has grownup things to do. Like I said though I do admire those that do live the nomad life and are able to travel. I don’t regret or wish away any of my responsibilities. I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.
I was reading an article on this website today as it talked about the adventures that Indian Jones went on. It reminded me how much I loved watching those movies a part of me imagining what it would be like to be off on an adventure and everything it entails. It also reminded me that I don’t do well where there isn’t indoor plumbing.
I make a point of making sure their is indoor plumbing no matter where I go. Even when we go camping I make sure we do it in the state park where there is a bathroom. I’m not opposed to a shower either. There is a family I follow on Instagram (I can’t think of their name at the moment) who live in a small bus. They are amazing! They have a small child and travel all over the place.
While I have dreams of travel, something that I will make a reality one of these days. I have realized that adventure is found in everything little thing that we do. Every moment of every day an adventure can be found.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
