Unclog A Stuck Drain With Coffee
Whether the kitchen sink or bathtub won’t drain, there is an easy way to solve the problem that doesn’t mean booking a plumber or heading to the DIY store.
Mix some coffee grounds with dish soap and boiling water to unclog the drain. Mix the ground with soap, and tip the mixture into the drain. Pour boiling water in after it and the combination can break up whatever is causing the clog in the pipe.
Use Coffee Grounds As A Degreaser
Do you have some leftover coffee grounds after your morning cup? You can use them to clean that grubby ring around the bath.
Rub the coffee grounds into the greasy soap mark and it will gently buff away any residue. Rinse the mixture off with warm water, and your tub will be left squeaky-clean.
Polish Furniture With Essential Oils
If you don’t have any furniture polish left, don’t worry! You can use essential oils to freshen up wood furniture.
A lemon essential oil can be used to polish dark wood and clean away spots and stains. Tea tree oil is also effective for polishing furniture and is also a bug deterrent. However, be careful of using this method on any surfaces that you use for preparing food, as some essential oils are not safe for consumption.
Remove Small Scratches On Furniture With Toothpaste
Most people end up with small scratches on the finishes of their furniture occasionally, especially if you have children or pets at home. However, before you spend a lot of money getting the furniture refinished or replacing it, you can try using a little toothpaste to get those scratches out. Use a pea-sized amount of non-gel toothpaste and rub it gently over the scratch in a circular motion until the scratch has been buffed out. Clean the toothpaste away with a damp towel afterward.
Remove Candle Wax From Furniture With Ice Cubes
If you ever spill any candle wax onto a piece of furniture, don’t risk ruining the finish of the furniture by trying to scrape the wax off. Instead, fill a plastic bag with ice cubes. Place the bag over the wax and leave it for a few minutes. Once the wax has cooled off and has hardened, you should be able to pick it up off the furniture easily, without ruining the finish or the fabric.

Interesting hacks! Who knew coffee could be used as a degreaser and drain unclogger? Just gives me a few more reasons to buy coffee! I had a carpet cleaner clean a few rooms in my house the other day, and they shared an interesting cleaning tip with me. They said that you can use baking soda to help deodorize your carpets and couches. I’m sure tons of pet owners wish they would have known the baking soda trick sooner!
